Default confused

Is this the same installer as KQCollectorsEditionDisc1Setup.exe? I used this successfully on my desktop Windoes 7 and copied it to my XP laptop and unnstalled everything and used these 2 (Dsic1 and Disc2) installers.

Yes - I checked and that is the installer I used. I will try again. Maybe there are some dangling things.

Default Now I'm really confused...

What I have is KQ Collectors Edition, not KQ Collection. It took me a while to learn the differene. I have installed on my Windows 7 computer the Collector's Edition stuff playing beautifully - so far. I am trying to do the same on my XP laptop. Are you telling me that the KQ Collection installerwill work with my same CDs - which are very definitely the Collectors Edition Celebrating Sierra-on-line's 15th Anniversay - 1995. Please clarify.

You want to use the right installer for your version. There are three very King's Quest collections. The King's Quest Collection Series and the 2006 VU King's Quest Collection are very different from The King's Quest Collector's Edition. The Collection Series needs a different installer and the 2006 collection need to be installed with the installer included on the CD and then patched with my patcher. Three different collections, three different solutions.

The two different installers for the first two collection can be found on the New Sierra Installers page, the patches for the 2006 VU collections can be found here.

Default Lost reply?

I wrote a reply to this last night and don't see it. I am confused because my CDs are the KQ Collector's Edition Anniversay blah blah and the installer you mention is labeled KQCollection installer and I don't know why that is. The successfully installed games on Windows 7 were definitely installed with KQCollectors Edition1 and 2. Why are you recommending one that is labeled KQCollection for installation on my XP laptop? Thanx.

It has nothing to do with the PC. Use the Collector's Edition installer if you have the Collector's Edition.
