Default Leisure Suit Larry collection question

Hello.

Does anyone know how I can pass the password page Leisure Suit Larry 5? The pdf manual tells me to remove the MEMORY.DRV file in the LSL 5 folder, yet I can't even find it there!

Thanks.

It may be UAC rearing its ugly head again. Do you have Windows Vista or 7 and the game installed in your "Program File" directory? If so, try moving the game to another folder, say C:\Sierra\LSL5

Default lsl5

I got the cd version to work in vista by;
installing the whole thing on to c : \ sierra\ collection blah blah
I then dragged the lsl5 folder down a level.
c: \ sierra \ lsl5 ( this is now the branch )

I then open up dosbox, select sierra to mount and then run the exe from here.

The first time i run it asks me if i want a password. Click no.

Job done.

Im going to assume that the Memory.drv is created after a first run, or if a password is selected, hence its hidden status.

Hope this helps, it took me hours to get it to work.

Bit bit of thread necromancy, however, your suggestion is no different than what was already suggested. The %ProgramFiles% folder should be avoided for ALL legacy games. My patch will detect if the collections are installed in the %ProgramFiles% folder and warn the user.
