Crystal Key 2 - Problem loading on XP
 

I have a 2004 computer with XP, an ATI Radeon 9800 video card, etc., and I just bought Crystal Key 2, which will not load. I get the error "CK2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I don't understand what causes this; the game is meant to be for XP and earlier operating systems. I tried setting the display size to 640 x 480 but that didn't help. Also tried reducing hardware acceleration. I'm not by nature a tweaker, but occasionally I can get something to work by trying various options. This hasn't worked so far with CK2.

I tried a small patch that was out there on the Internet, but it did not work. I believe it was made for a European version of the game called Evany. The error message said that the computer was looking for Evany and could not find it.
