Downfall - Hint Request

hi, im stuck, can anyone who got the game (probably not that many

) help me out on this part?

Spoiler:
pretty close to the very beginning. once your wife disapears, i picked up the cat using the key on it. however now i'm stuck and don't know what to do

thx for any help. i havent been able to find a walkthrough online yet.

Remember the receptionist told you about the breakfast? Just go back to your room and take a look at the breakfast tray. You will get an item there and I'm sure you will figure out what to do with it.

I'm totally stuck somewhere in the middle of Downfall

Agnes is already with me and Dr. Z told me to get on the roof and to attach an iron bar to the strange device up there. However, I don't have a clue where to find the bar - can anyone tell me?

Oh, I just realized there's a walkthrough in the game directory.

you know, you're right. i already HAD that item, but my problem was i used the cat on it which didnt do anything. so i didnt bother to use the item on the cat (usually in adventure games it doesn't matter if you use "A" on "B" or "B" on "A", but apparently in this game it does) which THEN did so something. thats kinda cheap lol. thanks!

The walkthrough should be in the game's directory that you downloaded to your computer. Open the folder holding the game's contents, and there should be a notepad labeled "Walkthrough".

The walkthrough was only in the original direc2drive version. The game's author opted for removing it from newer releases.

Ascovel thinks the creator took the original walkthrough out, so maybe if you look online for one...

Hey well i've tried everything i can think of and i've even replayed following the walkthrough to the letter. I'm still stuck however. At the point where i give mr harris the beer and he's supposed to blow up the bathroom....... it doesn't happen he just asks for more beer. I have flicked the switch each way to try and get it to work but no luck! help would be appreciated i hate being stumped like this. maybe it's a glitch? in which case i can't go any further?
