Default Atlantis: The Lost Tales Problem

I'm new here and I'm trying to search the hints/tech forums for any threads pertaining to how to make the PC game Atlantis: The Lost Tales (multiple cd version) playable in Windows XP. The forum search thingy keeps telling me my words are under the minimum 3, so I gave up the search and did this post. My search terms were: running Atlantis The Lost Tales in XP

here are the system specs for my Dell desktop PC:

OS: MS Windows XP Professional (5.1, build 2600) service pack 2

....what follows is a long list of deinterlace caps.....
Now we come to the registry--
Registry: OK;
DDraw status: enabled;
D3D status: enabled;
AGP status: enabled;

I did try the game in this PC several years ago, installing it normally and playing it in XP, but when it asked me to switch to CD # 2 as I was about to enter the hanger at the end of level 1, I took out cd # 1, inserted cd # 2, and clicked "ok" (iirc) on the text overlay, and next thing I knew, the game froze up. Is there any way past this problem? I believe there's a way to make it run in XP. If anyone had this happen to them and solved the issue, please post. Thanks in advance.

I changed the title of the thread, since your major focus seems to be the problem concerning the game and not the failed research in the forum's section.

Just tested it in VPC 2004 under Windows 98SE. It seems to run ok, The music plays ok, the speech is smooth, but the game scrolls kinda fast when you (the player) turn using the mouse. It is a Windows 95-ME game.

There is a DOS version of the game. They just removed the DOS files from it for some releases. Atlantis: The Lost Tales DOS files. If you want to try it in VPC, you could try turning down the mouse resolution in the guest Win98 to see if that fixes the mouse issue.

Collector, I tried to access the Atlantis: The Lost Tales Dos files, but I got this error: "Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /hold/ATL_DOS.zip on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I guess I'll have to try a google search....edit it didn't work.

Sorry, I forgot that I turned off direct linking on my site. Try this temporary page: Atlantis: The Lost Tales DOS files.

I've put Virtual PC 2004 onto my Dell desktop PC, installed Atlantis into this under Windows 98SE, plus I've turned the video acceleration almost all the way down (1 notch from the left) on my host PC, and on the guest PC, I've opened up DxDiag and turned the sound acceleration down 2 notches from the right and restarted the game. The people in the game are still rocking back and forth and shaking their heads/arms in little nervous-like movements. How can I eliminate this?

edit: Collector, I accessed the Atlantis The Lost Tales Dos files ok and I've downloaded them into a specific folder on my desktop Dell PC's desktop. Are they for the DOS version of the game? How do I use these files? What are they supposed to do? Are the graphics the game as in the Windows 95 version of the game?
