Help finding Patch for Egypt II Heliopolis Prophecy

Hi all,

I purchased the Cryo Egypt II Helipolis Prophecy and it wont run on XP SP2 even with 98 compatability mode set for the exe, i heard there is a patch but have not found it yet, the XP retail patch. any links anyone knows of or a copy of the patch? thanks a heap.

I did find that one just this morning, on that great patch site, thanks, there were actually two patches for EII HP and I tried em both, and then tried re installing completely and then trying them and I still get a short black screen with striping and then nothing. The read me says it needs Direct X 7.0 but my system wont support that version. I may be out of luck for this is the first edition, there may be a later edition with some changes by the Adventure Company and I will try that. I dont seem to be able to play this veriosn on XP SP2. Thanks very much for the path link tho. much appreciated. I can't think of anything else to do, as this was a 98 - XP2000 age game and is in the inbetween period of devel for us running XP. Unless anyone else has any ideas this will go to the wait for fix pile.

Actually I've played all the Egypt games on Vista and had no problems at all.

I don't remember if the game asks to install DirectX, but if it does, then say Yes - because it will install those missing directx files needed, that isn't on newer systems.

Hi and thanks that is good to hear about your being able to play them ..

It asked if i wanted to add Dirext X 5 and i said yes but then my system said it did not support it. that may be the problem. I will have to see if i can get around it. I have ordered a copy from TAC and hopefully it is the patched up and compatable one, i will see. thanks for the replies. much appreciated.

Was there any special way you installed teh Direct X5 parts? I think they are in a folder on the disc, i will check again.

I just checked which version I have and it's the Collectors Edition from TAC - Egypt II and III, so you should be able to play that one

It's a while back I played it, but I don't remember doing anything special except just installing.
