Sherlock Holmes: The awakened

Hi all,
I was quite happily playing Sherlock holmes till I came to the part where you visit the chosen one and then have to escape because he shouts too loud. I got into dr gygrax office with no problem but it wouldn't let me ring the bells for some reason, saying 'that is not possible'. So i went and installed the patch but that has only gone and deleted all of my saved games? Does anyone know what's going on or have a saved game after this area.

Don't know if this is what's holding you up, but have you already

Spoiler:
taken the unlabeled file from Gygax office and the note from the kitchen?

Possibly you can't ring the bells before that.

Hi,
Yeah I think I had the note saying about the annoynmous patient and the note from the kitchen saying the order in which to ring the bells.. but it still didn't work.

any ideas??

P.s does anyone have any idea how to get my saved games back? cheers

havent tried it yet but sounds like it should suit our purposes (i had the same problem)

hmm, doesn't seem to be working. With patch 1.3, the game puts save games in my documents/games/the awakened/save. if i drop my original save games into this directory, or the ones in the zip above, i can't access them in game. anybody have a solution?
