Default Another fallout 2 hint needed

I'm playing F2 now, but when i give feargus in the gecko power plant the part to make it run clean, he installs it, and after that when i'm passing a guard it starts shooting me. how come?

And another question i was wondering about, what's the advantage of having skills above 100. Of example I have my small arms skill at 99% now, and i hit what i aimed for 95% of the time, so why should i try to get higher?

About the arms skill. I'm sure that you can never have more than 95% on a single hit, however I'm guessing the advantage of improving the skill further is that you'll be able to take your called shots (like headshots) with greater accuracy as well.

As for your shooting problem, you should install the official fallout patch. In the unpatched version, you always get attacked after doing certain actions in the gecko power plant.

Now I don't know if this patch converts save games well, so if you do install it, be sure to check the readme, or make a backup of your savegames.

Thanks that did it.

One last question, how the hell do i get rid of my Jet adiction. Haven't touched the stuff in months but it just doesn't seem to leave. Oh and is there an explanation that i haven't run into any of the morton brothers yet. Killed Frog in Redding, Been traveling quite alot sinds then but the just don't seem to pop up. I really want that gun the last brother drops after i shoot his brains out

First question, you can get rid of your jet addiction, but you have to have (as I recall) either a very high science or doctor percentage (75 - 80%). If so you can discuss jet with the vault city doctor inside the vault at which stadium you have to provide him with a sample of jet. He then produces a cure after three weeks or so (you can't go cold turkey on this drug)

Second question, have you been travelling only with your car? If so, it might be a good idea to try to travel on foot (more encounters).

I can't get it to work. When i get there he just says, hows it going, and my only responce is fine, goodbye. Is there a quest i need to solve? I have a karma of about 1900. I whacked the 3 crime familys in Reno. Killed all the scientist at the stables, convinced myron to come with me. He got killed later. Are these things i've shoudn't have done?

Maybe getting Myron killed, but still you should be able to get the jet thing if you have a high doctor skill. How high is that?

ah there's the problem, it's 11%. is there anyway to increase it artificially? I'm already on lvl 23 or somethings so it's becomming a bit tricky to increase it normally

Doctor skill might not be possible (no manuals), but if you can get say to level 24, you can tag the skill (if you haven't used up this perk) and then you can raise it pretty quickly.
