Feeble Files for XP - Is it really a lost cause??
Hi guys!
I really want to play this game again but I can't find any way to run it on XP - it doesn't even work in compatibility mode. I've checked around online but the consensus seems to be that it won't work at all on any pc with XP I was hoping that someone out there may be able to raise my hopes and tell me that there *is* a way.....?

There are two ways I know of to get the game running on XP. The first is with Virtual PC:
http://www.quandaryland.com/jsp/disp...+FAQ#Windows95 You would need original software so you can install the OS Windows 95 or Windows 98, too, in order to use Virtual PC. OR, I have also read that Feeble Files will run using ScummVM (check out their site and see). Virtual PC will also run other no-go games on XP like Dark Side of the Moon and Amber, correctly. Damn it!
Why oh why did I get rid of my old 98 machine? I don't have the 98 OS discs so I guess I'll just have to make do with staring longingly at my Feeble Files box.... Ah well, thanks for your help anyway

Eh ... you're not missing out on much IMO.

Manhunter hasn't lost his mind, Kurufinwe; he read my post before I edited it to add that he could run it with ScummVM, so I was the one who created this confusion. I had at first forgotten that the new build of ScummVM supports Feebles Files.
Thanks for supplying the link, Kurufinwe! Have fun with Feeble Files, Manhunter. I've got it but haven't had the courage to give it a go yet; I've heard that it's a very difficult game. More power to you! |

Marian,
Thanks for clearing up the confusion - I actually have ScummVM although its a version I downloaded a few years back, so I guess its time to update. And, yes Feeble Files can be frustrating at times......... Its worth it though!
