Default Christmas Quest -2

Spoiler:
Okay, I have a mitt, a corkscrew, a broken faucet, and the ultipan. None will combine for me with anything else, and I can't turn the banana shaped knobs as is.

The lines are hilarious - you guys must have had great fun coming up with them.

Bah! Back again!

Spoiler:
Okay, I took the popcorn, put it in the microwave and cooked it, then combined it with the mitt. Nothing will happen for me now. I can't use it on the elf, the pipes or the leak.

I do get more funny replies, though!

Even with a cushion, the elf still won't jump all the way to the floor. Maybe there's an area about half way down that he'd be willing to brave? Full spoiler below:

Spoiler:
Use the stuffed mitt on the counter

I finished the game, but
Spoiler:
what was the logic behind the clock puzzle? Save early, save often?

Did you "read" the book you retrieved?

Spoiler:
(Either by using it on the dork or examining in inventory? The book should lead you to the hints you needed for the clock puzzle.

I did, multiple times even, but I didn't understand it so I just used the brute force method.

Spoiler:
I read both the blue and the red page multiple times.

Yes, you need a seal of some kind. This clue is a little vague, I know, and we'll actually be expanding it a bit in the next version. So this won't come as a spoiler to say that you need something "thick and goopy" to help form a seal.

Spoiler:
After you read the page, you can use it on Elf, several times, to get additional clues.

EDIT:

Spoiler:
Consider this: What kind of info you should look for regarding the clock puzzle?

Oh, so you saw the instructions and didn't understand the clues? Did you try using the instructions on the elf? He'll give you five sets of subtle clues to understanding them. If you don't understand them after that, I'll give a few layered clues of my own.

Clock Puzzle Solution

Medium spoiler:

Spoiler:
The note from dad contains a reference to six colours. You know what colours you're looking for, as you can seen them on display in the clock puzle. In each sentence you find the colours, you'll find a corresponding number.

Heavier spoiler:

Spoiler:
The letters and numbers aren't always obvious. If you're having trouble finding them, try reading the note aloud (in English) rather slowly.

Major spoiler:

Spoiler:
The letters and numbers you need are often homophones. That is, they are pronounced the same as the words you want, but are spelled differently. As an example (not part of puzzle), ate is pronounced the same as eight.

Totally giving it away:

Spoiler:
Red (read) = 1 (one)
Black = 2 (too)
Blue (blew) = 3 (three)
White = 4 (for)
Green (greenbacks) = 5 (five)
Grey = 6 (six)

Oh, and one final super-spoiler:

Spoiler:
The instructions tell you how to put the clock TOGETHER. Since you're taking it APART, you'll need to do the sequence in reverse order.

Allright, I still don't get it. That clue was as usefull as a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle.

Spoiler:
Look at the tree.

If you then still don't know what to do,

Spoiler:
Use the corkscrew on the tree.

You haven't reached the clock puzzle yet. You need to solve the thick and goopy carrot puzzle thing first.

Default clock

Jackal,
Thanks...i was focusing on the clock after getting the red page, but the goop is fully secured, the clock is restored and the pipes correctly arranged. Thanks for the great Christmas morning distraction before the roast beast!

Happy holidays to all!

I have no idea of what to with the faucet in the tree it says I need something to carry it in, but I can't find anything!

Tanuk, #1:

Spoiler:
You should just need to get down. It's too short when you're standing on it, but not when you get off! Then just use the rope to tie it.

#2
Spoiler:
Nothing at all to carry it in? Not even if you turned it upside down? If not, have a look at the snowman.
