Help Needed with Dreamfall!!

I'm playing Dreamfall and I'm stuck. Please help me.

I'm in chapter 4 and just gotten past the waterwheel part. I'm in the cliff by the waterwheel.

Spoiler:
According to the walkthrough, I'm supposed to walk to the end of the cave and see the glowing glyphs on the wall but no matter what I do or wherever I go, I can't get the glyphs to appear. I've been going crazy and walked back and forth the cave for some thing like 30 minutes but I still cannot get the glyphs to appear. The cave just remains dark. What am I missing?

you need to shed some light on the subject. can you remember where there is some light or light source close by that you can use? Try looking/going back down.

I thought that it'd be nice to have the egg because it's pretty dark at the end of the cave but I had to use it to make the wheel turn. Should I have taken the egg with me after making the wheel turn?

Read that walkthrough you were using again. It says to

I feel so stupid!

I've just read the walkthrough carefully and it says

Spoiler:
Take the glowing egg off the machine.

Glowing egg is even underlined!

Thanks so much Dale and Rjupiter for helping me out. Now, I can go on with playing the game.

I hope playing Dreamfall helps make me smarter because I feel so silly and stupid!
