Any Hope For Playing GK2 on XP?

I'm missing this game lately, I used to have it on mac a long time ago. I don't want to fish for some old PC version only to not have it work

oh and hi everyone. I've lurked a couple times here. I'm 23 and still hopelessly addicted to the classic adventure style games I grew up with. I'd do anything to see Sierra (& Dynamix) and LucasArts come back to the fold

Welcome to the forums, RockNFknRoll. :)

I moved your thread to our Hints section. Hendroz's fix is actually only for GK1, if I recall corectly, but if you search around the Hints subforum, you should find some threads about The Beast Within XP compatibility as well.

Welcome to the forum. :) AFGNCAAP is right, don't bother with the GK2 patch on that page unless you want to do away with disk swapping. It doesn't do anything for XP compatibility.

I've been able to run both the DOS and Windows versions of GK2 on XP with minimal trouble. For the DOS version I used VDMSound for the music to play properly, and for the Windows version I had to do this to work around an installation glitch (but not everyone has this problem).

If you have any specific problems, post here and someone will help you get through them.

i actually didnt use any programs. i just installed it and it worked perfectly.

one of the best games ever. it would be in top 3 if not for the totaly frustrating pixel hunting at the ending of the game. for crying out loud! first time i played it it took me days to finaly hit the right spot!
