Moment of Silence help
I'm stuck - I can't seem to trigger Peter to use the messenger to call his neighbor. BTW, I searched for this issue, but didn't find it in all the MOS posts. I also looked it up in both Magtro and the Quandary w/t's.
Spoiler: Lynsie

Ugh - I remember being stuck in the same place but I'm not sure how I did it.
The only thing I can think of is to make sure you've done all the dialogue options (esp. at work). A few times it looks like the dialogue is already done because it's changed color, but there's an option nestled down in the dialogue tree that still needs to be exhausted. (This game was not very forgiving about that. ) EDIT: You picked up the messenger inside the Cafe, didn't you? |

I went back to a previous save and started over again, but I still can't get him to use the messenger. Okay, I'll go back to work, and talk to Brian and Bill again. Lynsie

Well, I went back again, twice actually, from the previous save, and even though I found topics that I hadn't seen before, it still didn't allow me to make him use the messenger to call the guy's wife. He simply will not use it to call her, or for anything but the satcar and the ID terminal at the work building.
I just can't figure out anything else to do to trigger that conversation. He goes to her door, but won't knock - says he wants to leave her alone for a bit. Lynsie

He won't use it at all. When I bring it up there is red circle with an X in it, each time.

Did it even once occur to me to right click the messenger? Nope, nosirree! And I'm not even blonde! Thank you very much Mr. Ageless, Faceless, Gender-Neutral, Culturally Ambiguous Adventure Player. Lynsie

You're welcome. (although I helped you rather by accident, didn't I?)
I reckoned you must've used it before, at the very beginning of the game, but now that I think of it, I guess Peter might have turned it on automatically at that point.

My second AAARRRGGGH of the day: I was so excited just getting it to work again, that I have been wrapped up in the story. I've been playing it for two hours, and just came out of the antique store - went back to the satcar and it crashed to the desktop. Me? Save? of course not! Oh, well, it should be quicker the second time around, right?
