Just recently bought a copy of EA Classics: Escape from Monkey Island. THe game installs fine, but then it wont run (screen goes black and crashes after a sound) I am not sure what the problem is, all system requirements are ok. The OS Im using is Win98. Would appreciate anyones help, Thanks!

Have you tried running it with the ScummVM emulator?

There's no point. Escape does not use Scumm engine.

Yep, tried using SCUMMVM but it does not support the game. Also tried the new patch but the same thing still happens.

I guess it is about the sound card drivers/accel level.
Try these:

1. reinstall DirectX 9c
2. remove then reinstall latest sound card drivers
3. if these don't help, reduce DirectSound acceleration level (only one or two steps, do not disable it entirely).
4. There is a slight chance that reducing DirectX video acceleration (one step) can help, too.
