It's good to see the product go from announcement to release in such a short space of time. Even if there is slippage of a month or two, they'll still be moving much faster than some others [duke nukem forever, anyone?]

It seems to be the latest trend now with developers. They just work on a game for a long time in secrecy, and then when they announce it they're well on their way to completing it.

It's a great trend. An added bonus beyond the illusion of shorter development times is that we, the gamers, have less time to become hyped up beyond all reason. I've never understood the need to announce games years before they are released. For one thing, everybody knows that with game technology increasing at the rate it does, most games won't even look like their years-old screenshots (and let's hope so, for DNF's sake).

Hmm... judging from the trailer, I think that's a promise

Max Payne 2 in-game footage!! Get 'em while they're hot!

Clip #1 and #4 are jawdroppingly awesome, they tweaked Bullet Time to be even more cinematic, and just seeing the Havok physics engine throwing those bodies around in slo-mo........Mmmph!

Clip #5 is one of the graphic novel cutscenes with Max and Mona. Talk about erotic electricity.

BTW, this game comes out in less than 4 weeks.

You know, until I see a real practical purpose for that slow-motion spinning-around-with-two-guns thing, it will not impress me

Also, it sounds like they got a new voice for Max

What are you talking about, it's the same voice actor as the first.

In that case, he did a good job sounding older

I think they went a little overboard with the bullet-time here..... When the bodies were flying gravity-less through the air it looked more stupid than cool. And I hope the somke and fire stuff were jsut placeholders... ugh.

But the comic was great, and I DID get that Max Payne feel... They just need to speed up bullet-time a little.

Garyos: yeah, I completely agree about the bullet time.

On a somewhat-related note, doesn't it look like Max is running at almost normal speed when in bullet time, whereas everything else is moving absurdly slowly compared to him?

Bullet time is more cinematic, but the question is, does it play better?
