SamNMax 04-07-2005 07:46 AM

What, you didn't know that?

samIamsad 04-07-2005 07:58 AM

No, I didn't....... There you go, telling people what innovative games Nintendo is producing at times, while the awful truth is just a website away.

Well, that's only the American version of Super Mario Bros. 2. There was an original sequal released in Japan. They just thought it was too tough for American gamers. So, they just changed the characters of that game. It's the American way.

I was always under the impression that they made the US versions of action games somewhat more challenging than the far east versions. I remember reading an article which went into this in depth, stating that Asian gamers when confronted with a level that was very challenging would just quit the game in frustration while studies showed US gamers had a bit more patience to keep trying to conquer the challenging part.

Yep, I thought everyone knew about this already. In Japan Mario Bros II was different than the US version. The Japanese game was the true sequal but it was never released in the as a seperate catriage. It was later released on the Super Nintendo in the Mario Collection and it became known as Super Mario Bros The Lost Episode.
