Default An inside tour of Funcom

Wooooow!

Rama is one lucky guy.

But i'm affraid of the negative feedback this part will cause:

Quote:
This is what Jarl wrote when I asked him about this in an e-mail I sent later on: "Yes there are “health bars” when you fight. And you can die – but death won’t quite be what you’re used to from most games. And yes the results of a fight can affect the paths available through the game.

I can already see it: people will start comparing this to Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels. Next thing they'll say this is not adventure and for that does not belong in Hype-O-Meter.

*SIGH*

Anyone else (besides me) wants that HUGE poster of Dreamfall from the wall?

Maybe Marek and Stinger could make some sort of deal with Funcom, or better yet Ragnar himself, to provide some posters for die-hard fans. I'm even willing to pay for it.

I want it, I'd pay good money for it.

And that's a Good idea, now let's start to put pressure on Evan&Marek so that they'll make a deal with Funcom!

I'd pay $50 USD for the poster, maybe even more......i wonder if they would actually make copies and sell them.

I don't think so. This was the first poster they made and the game was in very, very early development back then. It wasn't even called Dreamfall yet. Maybe they'll do something with those three character posters when the game is out.

Hell, early developement or not, i want THAT poster from the wall.
I don't want three charactars on it, i like it just the way it is now! Once the game is out, i'm gonna email them about it every day, until they yield

I bet they are really nice and this won't be necessary

WOW thats a cool poster

Maybe they could have it as a pre-order gift or something.

Though i have a bad feeling that a lot of people on this site are going to hate Dreamfall, because its:

A) in 3D.

B) has 'action' sequences.

C) Is trying to something new with the adventure genre.

People here aren't as short-sighted as you may think.

Personally I love that they are making it in 3D. As for the "action" it remains to be seen how much real action the game will contain. So far it looks like it won't contain any action in its traditional sense at all.
And innovations rock in these days of monotony.

Don't get me wrong, I think its great that Funcom are trying new things.

Its just that people on this site seem to very much against people trying anything new with the adventure genre. Especially if it involves 'action' sequences and 3D.

Not so much this site as some others. As long as the fighting has a true point and isn't just an "action obstacle" to get through a room, I'm all for it.

I don't think the majority of the people here will be turned off by Dreamfall's fighting features or the 3D. And we know that the game is in very good hands.

Sorry, its just that a lot of people seemed to hate Broken Sword 3 specifically for its action sequences and because its in 3D. I was worried that they would instantly dismiss Dreamfall, because it also has these features. Though hopefully not the crate puzzles.

I understood that.

It's wasn't because it was in 3D or because it had action sequenses, it was because the 3D engine could have been made better than it was and the same goes for the "action".
