Default Best PS2 games anyone?

I'm trying to buy some games for my new PS2. I've played tons of PC games so I want something that is console specific. What are some of the best games out there for PS2 that are not offered for PC? Appreciate your help

monkey island 4 and shadow of destiny are both good games for the PS2 and both 100% pure adventure

Well if your name is Soccerdude...and if you have PS2 then I kindly suggest "World Soccer Winning Eleven 7 International". I know its a silly name but it is the best football (*ehem soccer) game ever made. And its only 40 Bucks.

Metal Gear Solid (PS1) and Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS3) are both awesome games if you are much into plot and character development. The basis is stealth action with some other elements thrown in along the way but they are designed with varying difficulty levels. They're filled with little details and small secrets if you care to look for them as you play longer. I'd get Metal Gear Solid first (Should be easy to find on eBay or any major retailers as a Greatest Hits release). But if you hate deep characters and a good, meaty plot then be advised that the MGS series may not be your thing.

Just don't play MGS2 until you've played MGS. Please. And there's also the third game in the series coming pretty soon, if 3-4 months sounds 'short' to you.

Other games of note:
Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus (Platformer)
Devil May Cry (Platformer/Action)
Jak & Daxter and the Precursor Legacy (Platformer/Action, one of my favourite ever games)
Jak II (Sequel with more emphasis on GTA-style action and open city)
Fatal Frame (Survival horror where you're equipped only with a camera)
SSX3 (Best snowboarding game ever)

Many more, but these are some very good ones.

Also, it would help if you name genres you have an interest in and what some of your favourite PC games are. (I really should work at a game retailer, I really should)

Oooh, I forgot that one. Would've mentioned it but it's not currently on my shelf... nor has it been there for the last year or so. Damn thieves that you lend stuff to and they never bother returning it.

I recommend the following:

ICO (adventure)
Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies (combat flight sim)
Gran Turismo 3 (driving sim)
Wild Arms Alter Code F (RPG. It's a remake of Wild Arms 1 on the PS1. Should be out in the US later this year)
Silent Hill 2-4 (survival horror)
Frequency (music/puzzle game)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (stealth actioner done with a movie flavour)
Way of the Samurai 1 & 2 (action adventure, to satisfy the Bushido Blade cravings)
Shadow of Memories/Destiny (adventure)

Prince of Persia, Sands of Time... and if the PC version is any indication, Beyond Good & Evil.

He said console-specific, but although I don't know about the other games, don't go for the PS2 version of the GTA games if you have a PC that can handle them. They'll look a lot nicer on your PC, and they do on X-Box too, but I know you don't like the X-Box.

Oh yes, and definitely go for Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It will take you for a ride.
