Default Jade Empire

http://www.gamespot.com//xbox/rpg/jadeempire/preview_6094979.html

The setting of this game sounds like it's shaping up to be awesome. I like how they've created a lot of history for the locations. The graphics also look pretty awesome. Too bad I don't have an X-Box.

I dunno. I appreciate Bioware's using a somewhat unconventional setting for this game, but it seems to be even more centered around combat than ever before (now with combo attacks!). I was hoping Bioware would further expand upon the few, somewhat underdeveloped non-combat options and skills that would occasionally come into use in KotOR.

I miss Fallout...

I think they're hyping up there combat system due to the fact it's original and not based on any already established liscence. Who knows though. I like the sound of the game and it's a good incentive to buy an X-Box. I want to learn more about the storyline of the game though.

If you take a look at the videos on GameSpot, there's actually a lot of story going on, with the familiar dialog scenes and so on.

Jade Empire rules for back-lighting their characters. It's a simple trick that makes the character scenes look twice as good.

Yeah, it sort of blends them into the location. That's pretty awesome.

I hate Bioware (and Black Isle) for making games for Xbox and not PC. Grrr, I say.

They've got an original PC RPG in development, It just hasn't been announced yet. I agree that Jade Empire should be on the PC though.

Yeah, I knew that. I'm a major Black Isle/Bioware fanboy

Black Isle also released a Baldur's Gate game that only appeared on consoles, and there's a sequel on-way. That really annoyed me :|

Ah, alright then. Makes sense. Hopefully BioWare will announce their PC project at E3 this year.

Interplay has just rescently lost the rights to distribute D&D games such as the Baldur's Gate and Dark Alliance games. Check their website -- they're not even listed anymore.

Yeah, but those are nothing like the Baldur's Gates you know and love on the PC. They're basically just Diablo with better graphics...not really an interesting use of the Forgotten Realms license or anything.

They're decent games though.
