k, tried for the whole free trial week (back in the day) and it wasn't bad: the community was nice often giving cool items when I bowed or something -- exploring their huge egos gets results --, and traveling with nerds was... interesting. Yup, it was enjoyable while it lasted.
Last year I tried Allods-Online with my girlfriend and 2 of her friends for a month cause mmorpgs were some kind of fad for a while back then, and I gotta say it was extremely fun. It has better graphics, awesome quests and events, it plays like WoW so it isn't hard and the community is always there to help. Oh, and it's F2P (the way to go!). The only sucky thing is mounting: it isn't free. And there u go sleepyhead. |

Never played but the video where they used WOW characters for the Avenue Q song "Internet is for porn" never gets old.

I started playing it in beta and for about 4 years after that. I have some fond memories of that game but at the end I just got bored and it didn't justify the monthly fee anymore. But with 4 years of good times I can't complain.
I had the most fun playing as my Tauren Druid in Duskwood/Stranglethorn/Redridge killing low levels and dancing on their corpses Ahh the more I think about it the more I miss that game. |

really for the amount of time you have to spend on those games, they should be paying you a monthly fee O_O

I bougt it in december at discount for $5, and i got kind of bored of it a week before my time ran out.
What i dont like about wow is the story ends in about level 20-30, the rest becomes repetitive unrelated quests made for leveling up mostly, then at level 70 you get a bit of story in parts of the map but by level 75 you are just doing level up quests again and by that time the game really looses all it's meaning. I have a special love for Warcraft and wow feels cool and all but i would love it if they had a single player self contained story like Warcraft 3 had. Leveling to 80-85 to be on raids on an on or killing other players in battlegrounds is not what i like in a game, for that i play team fortress 2 or such for free. I recommend you play the starter edition, when you get to 20 you will be satisfied with the story up to that point, then is kind of a waste. I personally loved playing with the undead, their story was the most involving. Last edited by glenfx; 02-10-2012 at 01:26 AM. |
