Default the AMC TC (Great new free BUILD engine game!)

Okay if you are like me, anything creative done with the Duke Nukem 3D engine (aka BUILD) makes your day. You'll definitely get excited for this great free game just released a couple of days ago. It doesn't require Duke3d, just download and play the .bat file. Play it with the original video settings.

Anyways, this game is a step forward in old school game modding. So much has been done with such a retro engine, including snazzy in-game cutscenes, XCOM style base hub, eight unique characters with their own personality, story, and weapons. Through each mission you get money and can find research projects to research and rescue scientists to work back at the base.

On top of a really great mod/game, the maps/levels are HUGE. Including quite a few new gameplay mechanics like Ladder Climbing, picking up objects to reach higher places, Sprinting, Wall Jumping and more.

If that wasn't enough, you'd be impressed with how varied the environments are from level to level and how interesting the story gets, especially since this takes place long after Duke Nukem's death.

Go get it, you have nothing to lose and its FREE. Very addicting and nostalgic.

Note: If you have any problems loading your save games, download the latest build of eDuke at http://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/s...11231-2229.zip

Just copy the files from the zip into the game folder and replace all the files. Run the .bat file again and load game. Should work.

Jumping to a 2d object in a 3d world is quite the headache and there's just way too much keys buuut chopping aliens with a battleaxe makes up for it, even though I'm lost 90% of the time.

And I loved seing Ecco the dolphin in a fishtank, I won't feed that sob that's for sure!
(There's some neat details like that)

The real charm comes from the mix of pretty much every dos fps. Nostalgic and fun.

So far my favorite level was the one that takes place in the desert when you have to investigate some cult. That was real fun. Had a bit of an adventure/exploration to it, on top of some characters from the game Blood.

I wish my experience with BUILD could of went somewhere. My greatest creative spurt in the engine was in elementary to middle school. So many maps, so many custom everything. -_- damn not having internet to back shit up.

Nevermind, my favorite map turns out to be another Cultist themed mission set up at a snow town. This map is quite awesome, giving you some VERY unique scares (one of the creepiest enemies) and a cool flow where you switch between two characters within the same map, changing the gameplay up depending on the character you are. The characters are Sang and James.

This game deserves more recognition.
