People should really stop bitching like this; you said it right there: Black Isle's Fallout. The 3rd one was Bethesda's take on the franchise, Be-thes-da's. Jeez.

I thought I was the only one in this universe that played Constructor it's such a great gem but hard as f-!!! And good for you, just don't play the sequels (i.d. they suuuuuck) .

Oh man now that I think about it a bit more, I've left so many out it hurts: Commandos, MicroMachines, Incubation, Freelancer, SimCopter, ComixZone, Advance Wars, Duckman, Total Annihilation... this thread is really messing with my nostalgia-nerve.

Fallout 3 is imo clearly the worst part from the series (I am also counting Brotherhood of Steel ). New Vegas showed how to make good Oblivion-like Fallout.

I couldnt recommend you any game more, especially when Planescape and BGII are in yours list . So give it a once more time another try.

This I don't agree with. New Vegas is an exact copy of Fallout 3, but with added bugs and unexplained crashes that took at least 4 patches to reach the level of a pre-patch Fallout 3.

The main story line in New Vegas was more interesting though, but it took so long to go somewhere.
Granted, at least it went somewhere. The main quest in Fallout 3 was by far the worst part of that game...

Maybe I should give the first two another try, but unfortunately there are far too few hours in a day (and too much of those are spent at work)...

Spoilers:

If the "worst part of that game" has a VR-slasher-clown going after 1950's housewives and mexican standoffs all around the whitehouse, the game's a definite win.

Because Obsidian Games is filled with ex-black isle employees unlike Bethesda. I know, I interned there.

I'm not even going to try getting everything into a list, let alone trim it to 50.

Someone should make an app that will allow you to load a list of games, then show you two at random and ask you which you liked better. Once its gone through enough combinations to get a tanking, it should calculate the rank and display it.
