Tin Tin Returns!
Cartoon classic reporter returns as an action adventure hero (should have been action rpg) for multi platform.Looks like game starts with both secret of unicorn and golden crab mixture, and expect to see lots of mixed sequences from other books.
Will release with PJ & Spielberg's feature movie at Xmas. Prepare to meet only Belgic action hero reporter of the century :D http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespo...0screen002.jpg http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespo...0screen007.jpg |
Yeah, looked great at E3. Can't wait to see the movie. :)
|
I agree that the game looks good. Most licensed games are, of course, crap. But I'm actually more interested in the game than the movie. Leave it to Ubisoft.
|
Prince of Belgium?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZHE_wiWCwM (gameplay trailer) I have all the books. |
One of the highlights of E3 for me. I love Tintin and this just looks like the perfect video game adaptation of it. Hopefully both this and the movie turn out well.
|
I'm a bit wary myself. Tintin has action, sure, but to me it's still much more about the adventure and I fear that too much action will very much take away from the atmosphere.
I'm waiting interestedly, but reservedly :P |

I'm more worried about attempts to update Tin Tin. He's full of childish wonder to the exclusion of all else (including political correctness).
I know of a couple of attempts to modernise and update him that failed (thankfully). I like that he chases adventure, not boys or girls. |

Also, pure action would mean he's shooting everyone. :P |
Didn't remember Tintin shooting around with pistols much in the comics. Didn't he rather opt for peaceful solutions?
Or do I remember incorrectly? |

I own all the books too. For all the people worried about TinTin shooting people, maybe we can aim at the tires. ;)
Also, anyone noticed the Uncharted 3 plagiarism? =P Looking forward to play this. |
I wonder if we'll get to hunt elephants for their ivory tusks like early Tin Tin (in the Congo).
|
I only vaguely remember watching bits of the cartoon years ago, but I've never really followed Tintin.
I'm curious about the Spielberg/Jackson movies, though The art/graphic style for the game looks cool, but as someone has already said, game adaptions of movies (and vice versa) tend to suck! I will keep a 'casual' eye out for the games, just in case... |
I remember playing the original Broken Sword and thinking how it reminded me of a slow paced Tin Tin, though I don't really know why. Thinking back to the cartoons I enjoyed as a child (I never got around to the books, but they are on my bucket list) and there's just something similar about the whole atmosphere. Sergeant Moue could have made a wonderful stand in for the Thompson twins...
Im disgressing...... Sorry :frown: I wish the Tin Tin game was an AG, the franchise fits the model soooo well. But, then, if they simply made a Broken Sword 4 I think I may be just as happy. (Well, not quite but almost). |

There's even a couple of small references to Tintin in the Broken Sword series: at the beginning of BS1 Sergent Moue and Rosso mention him, and, as George, there's a shop window you can examine in BS3 where George will mention his Tintin collection. It can't be coincidence... :P |
maybe it was subliminal :| references to Tintin I only subconsciously picked up on...
|
Daniel Craig will be playing in the movie <3

It's a pity they couldn't duplicate Hergé's distinctive art. E.g. by applying filters to the 3D. I wonder, do people prefer the shaded 3D, or is it just technically too difficult to make it authentic? Or will the movie replace the comics in the popular imagination?

, wish game were more look like concept art.. http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespo..._screen010.jpg |
That is beautiful! I hope I get a chance to create a house like that in my next game. A cutaway would be ideal for something like Dracula, where the hero is trapped in the castle, and doesn't know how far it's safe to explore...

I figured the game would be the Secret of the Unicorn since that is what the film is based on.
