Default Homestar Runner RPG for Atari 2600/emulators

Click picture for more info

I know there are a bunch of HR fans on these boards, as well as RPG fans. Chances are there's some overlap between the two, so I figured there might be some interest in this:

Quote:
Coming in May for your Atari 2600: The first official Homestar Runner video game for a game console, RPG style.

By Mike and Matt Chapman and Paul Slocum.

Features:
- Play as Homestar, Homsar, or Strongsad
- Large world, comparable in size to early computer RPGs
- Ability to save your place in the game with a code system
- Large amount of in-game story text
- Turn-based gameplay
- Mini-games
- Magic, weapons, HP, all the goods.
- Fight enemies from other Atari 2600 games
- Will be released as a cartridge for the Atari 2600
- ROM will also be released for emulators
- Strongbad is not playable because he is the villain!
There's a demo right now that runs best on the Z26 emulator. It's a whopping 8K, so if you don't have broadband, be prepared for a wait.

The site says that it "Will be released as a cartridge for the Atari 2600" so I assume it hasn't been released yet.

Since the brothers Chapman are involved, making it an official product, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the HR store when it's released.

It would be funny/cool if they released the demo on a cartridge. It could be included on the demo cartridge for the Official Atari 2600 Magazine. Or you could download it from Atari 2600 Live (broadband connection and subscription required; headset communicator optional).

What! You can't control Strongbad!!!! NOOO!!!

Oh, wait! Strongbad himself said "You can control me, man!"

This sounds pretty cool anyway, I wonder if the final boss is Trogdor?

Here's what the site says about it:

Quote:
This is a demo that should run on most of the Atari 2600 emulators. If you have a PC I suggest you use the Z26 emulator to try it out. Download Z26 and unzip the demo into the same folder, then run RUN_Z26.BAT.

For other emulators you may have to set the bankswitching to F6 and turn off the superchip RAM. You can find other emulators here.

If the bankswitching is not configured properly or you run the demo on an emulator that doesn't support some instructions that my program uses, it may crash at some points or get stuck on the title screen.
