Default Age of Decadence - indie cRPG, demo released

Age of Decadence, developed by Iron Tower Studio, is an upcoming:
Quote:
isometric, turn-based, single-player 3D role-playing game set in a low magic, post-apocalyptic fantasy world, inspired by the fall of the Roman Empire. The game features a detailed skill-based character system, non-linear gameplay, multiple skill-based ways to handle quests, choices & consequences, and extensive dialogue trees.
Should be interesting for any fans of the old BlackIsle/Troika RPGs (Fallout 1&2, Arcanum).
And features such as these should interest AdventureGamers:
Quote:
Non-combat quest resolutions and a well-developed diplomatic path ( "The best weapon against an enemy is another enemy." )
Each situation has multiple ways of handling it, based on your skills, reputation, and connections. Each way has consequences that will affect someone or something.

Extensive dialogue trees, written with role-playing in mind. You can use many skills in dialogues, take actions like stealing or sneak-attacking, and play your character with personality as you see fit.

An interesting world with rich history and unclear future that your actions can shape into seven very different game endings.
There's a lot of info going around on the forum, like the Let'sPlay thread, or others displaying various character builds in action (like Merchant or Loremaster).

But combat is obviously a viable option as well, and a combat-demo (and that's exactly what it is, unfortunately not much else to explore) has just been released.
EDIT: And bug-fixed, new version (with mirrors) available here.
There's also a 'Survival Guide' for the demo here.

And for some eye-candy (boatload of it in the gallery thread -nice to see how it evolved over the years-):

Btw. Iron Tower hosts forums for a few other indie RPG devs, like DoubleBear Productions (founded by veteran Brian Mitsoda -who you might know from his work in BlackIsle, Troika and Obsidian- and Annie Carlson) for their Zombie RPG. That one's still pretty new, but there are weekly "Design Updates" posted by Brian to give you an early idea on the game.

im intrigued, though i typically try to stay away from demos. Is there a release date of sorts?

edit: oh and on a semi-related note, ever hear of the broken hourglass? Its a similar project thats been going on for a long time, and lately theyv added a blog by one of the devs who keeps it regularly updated: http://www.planewalkergames.com/
