Life after Telltale Games

Hi all! My name is Heather Logas. You may remember me as a game designer on some great Telltale games like the Bone, Sam & Max, and the Wallace and Gromit games.

I haven't been at Telltale for a couple years now, but I am ready to start making some cool games again! I am currently seeking funding through this awesome site called Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com) for my first completely independent game project. I'd love it if you would take a look at the project page and, if you think the game is something you would buy, pledge $7 for a pre-order. (It won't actually take your money unless the project is fully funded on February 1st 2010).

Spread the word and by all means let me know what you think of the project!

The link to the project is: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-story-lets-b/

Thanks,
Heather

Welcome Heather! :)

We met what seems like eons ago at Telltale (I play tested the two Bone games). Glad to see you around here and making games.

Hey Heather. Glad to see you back to work! I like your idea for the project. It sort of reminds me of this game called "Alter Ego". Its a classic dos game in which you live your life through a board game style interface, answering questions that will effect the outcome of your life.

I see a lot of possibilities with your design and I would be glad to put in some mullah when I get my next pay check. Best of luck!

Thank you both very much! I remember playing Bone with you Melanie, thanks for replying to my post.

Funny enough, Kadji-kun, the cool guy behind the web and mobile versions of the Alter-Ego game is a good friend of mine and is helping me with this project. His name is Dan Fabulich, and he's developing a scripting language that specifically makes this kind of work much easier to do. This is a project I designed in Graduate school, but Dan's Choice Script scripting language is such a good fit for making the game go that its what I've decided to use.

Oh, and just a clarification on how Kickstarter works: You can pledge however much you like but it will not take the money from you until the closing date of the project and then ONLY if the pledge amount has been reached (or excceeded!) So if you would like to pledge, you can go ahead and do so without needing to have the money at the moment.

Thanks so much for your support! I'd love to hear more feedback, and I would also be happy to answer any questions about the project if anyone has any to ask.

This Kickstarter idea is really interesting. Even more interesting is the premise of your game, I love dreams!

Thanks guys,

Yes, Kickstarter is really interesting. I've been struggling for awhile trying to figure out how I was going to manage making my own game while paying the bills and a friend of mine pointed me at the site. Several other game projects have been successful on there and I hope this one will make it too!

Toefur, thanks for your pledge! What are your favorite games about dreams?

Nice to see you here too, fellow ex-Telltailor and Kickstarterer. :)

Wow! Welcome! I really hope your project goes through. Good luck in it!

And you know what? KUDOS for naming your site domain Jetgirl. We've got a character nicknamed like that in our game!
