Unforgettable moments
Hello
I would like to know what breathtaking scene, landscapes, dialogues or nostalgic stuff in gaming experience that are stuck in your head and you just can't forget. Post a picture, or a video if you like to. One of the best moment i've experienced was on metal gear 3, when snake meet The Sorrow boss while he's walking in a river with burning trees around him. I don't know why the "sad... so sad... a host of sorrows" speech just won't get out of my mind, and i've finished that game about 5 or 6 years ago, hehe. There's a video on youtube with that part at 2:40 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLI1nYvVGhE So what about you guys?

For me, it would be a tie between when you first see Riven; with the different islands, the giant gold dome, and the amtracks; and when we learn Faith's story in "Dreamfall".
The scene from "Riven" sticks with me because it was the first truly beautiful place I saw in a game, somewhere I actually wanted to go, and really took my breath away. The scene from "Dreamfall" where we learn the backstory of Faith is so horrible, that it's hard to forget, and it definetely gets an emotional response from me; which is what "art" tries to do. It makes the game more weighted for me from that point on, meaning a whole lot more.

A Gabriel Knight Mystery - The Beast Within: The Opera Scene
There are others, but this is the first one that pops into my mind. And probably the most vivid "unforgettable moment" I have, when it comes to computer games. More maybe later

Hi evil clown thing!
James was watching that scene from inside a closet, wasn't he? Or do I not remember it right?

Another stunning moment that poped in my mind while i was watching Andrea Draco video, which is pretty great, is the Syberia 2 ending, when finally kate and Hans finds what they were looking for. A lot of people complained about that ending but i really like it.
Syberia 2 ending

Also, on top of my list are several moments from Riven, especially when we go to Catherine's prison cell. The music is soulful and she is hauntingly beautiful in her red flowing dress. When she glances at the game player/rescuer through the doorway ... well, it is magical.

Beautiful ending, Syberia 1. It even makes you forget the cocktail puzzle you have just solved (or was it a recipe?). The machine appears briefly in the video. My best moment is the "trip to the past" in Syberia 2. I absolutely love visiting a place you know before, or after, the time you are familiar with it.
Anyway, this is the General forum, so I guess we should diversify. I think I will never forget the findings in KotOR about your previous self. Or, in Torment, for that matter. I guess I love revelations about the character's past. |

Admiral Aken Bosch's monologues in Freespace 2. The voice acting is just so well done and although there's not much happening it is done so well

Ohh, recently i've experienced a moment in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots that i'm sure i'll never forget, it is very nostalgic. It's the return to Shadow Moses (militar base) 10 years after the first Metal gear solid, in game and real life. Brought good memories from childhood. =,)
MGS 4 Shadow Moses return

The whole Pripyat level in Call of Duty:Modern Warfare, the atmosphere is just right.
On Modern Warfare 2, the Airport level. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but anyone in the know will know what I'm talking about. I'm used to playing games of varying violence, and even that did shock me a bit.

In Red Faction, the first time I placed a handheld detonator-controlled sticky mine on a person and witnessed his reaction.

In Half Life Opposing Force deathmatch, when my cousin, who had selected a zombie avatar, chased me down a hallway with a crowbar that he was banging along the wall the entire way. Being scared out of my mind at the moment, but finally turning around and shooting him. Moment of pure gaming bliss ^_^

At night at Tycho Northpaw's cottage on the cliffside at the edge of the Wild Lands, in Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb by New World Computing.
The music is really warm and comforting, and it's just so beautiful with the window open to the starry night sky, looking over the landscape.Tycho's house would be like my dream home - a house on the edge of a cliff near a stormy sea would also be good Another one - when you arrive at Mordack's castle in King's Quest V. I think Mark Seibert composed the theme, it's haunting and brooding. Mordack's castle is guarded by these two huge stone pythons which you can see in my avatar. The castle itself is like this huge organic monstrosity, with nightmarish rooms within... Another memorable one from KQV is the witch's house in the dark forest. There is some sort of infinite chasm with fiery light emanating from the depths of hell surrounding the monstrous spike ridden house. The forest was pretty scary as a young boy |
