My fav one has to be: Dreamfall The Longest Journey
The scene: Wen Zoë is outside, i`ll stare for ages into the landscape, seeing flying cars, the beautifully scifi city, all coupled with South America which now is a well developed region, seeing those style of houses, all combined with scifi, gave me the chills. And the second scene: has to be wen i`m outside in the fantasy world, the snow and the total backdrop of stark.. amazing! i truly felt like in another world, a second reality.. were i`ll want to go and explore, used to go ages just exploring the world, didnt gave 2 cents about the rest, it was me and the world! and also the scene from: The longest journey, wen i was outside in Venice, first adventure game i ever played, the one that hooked me to adventure gaming, the style of the surroundings and the unique world.. amazing Anyone knows were to find the same style of housing that was in dreamfall today? Stunning pics at all, i remember all those dreamfall moments. It's so nice when you return to the places where you been in previous games, very nostalgic. About the "dreamfall housing combined with scifi stuff game style" i don't remember any, but there are some games with similar housing style with beautiul landscapes, Outcast and Assassins creed are a couple of them, both are awesome games:

Because this is on the general gaming forum; if I could narrow it down to one I'll always say this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a75gm_ovvsY

Actually, that's Casablanca, in (future) Morocco. I loved the architecture, too, which is basically Arabic in style, at least in Zoe's neighbourhood, which is the old city (the "medina"). Hence the similarity with Assassin's Creed. I believe the art team visited Casablanca and perhaps other cities (Fez, Marrakesh).
You'd find this kind of houses all over countries with Arabian influence (Northern Africa, Middle East), and also in hot places that favour flat rooftops: Southern Europe, the US Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico). |
