I bought the game the other day, but was finishing up Mass Effect 2 so havn't played it.

Slightky worried as Bioshock is like The Matrix of video games. (I.e Sequel not required.)

Got to hand it to the good folk of Rapture, they sure know how to trade one crazed extremist for another.

I think my absolute favourite story point was exploring the Big Daddy/Little Sister bond, though. They touched on this in BioShock, but assuming the role of a Big Daddy brings the dynamic so much closer to home.

Spoiler:
I particularly liked seeing what Rapture looked like through the eyes of a Little Sister too. The art direction during this section was probably the game's best.

Relax. As unnecessary sequels go, this is a good one.

My copy of Bioshock 2 has just arrived. Wohoo!

Looking forward to play it, unfortunately I'll not be able to do that until this weekend.

Has any one played the multiplayer portion of the game yet? What's it like? (Doesn't really appeal to me, but I've been hearing good things...)

I have. It's alright. But overrated if you ask me. I never bought BioShock 2 for its multiplayer though. It's an unnecessary addition. When I play the multiplayer component it just makes me appreciate the single player campaign. The ranking system is good and how you get new weapons/plasmids/upgrades with each new level/rank. But multiplayer doesn't feel all that special to me.

I seem to get a bit confused/disorientated because of how dark the environments are as well.

Ohh, man. Finally I've found some time to install/play Bioshock 2. I've just arrived in Dionysus park.

I'm enjoying it, playing on PC. What do you guys think about the game difficulty? Just like in the first one, I'm having no problem at all to beat my enemies on normal mode.

You're just getting to Dinoysus Park, where the game does start to ramp up in difficulty. But it is a relatively easy game, there's really no point at which you don't have a full wallet or supply of hypos and medkits.

Agreed. I even managed to beat the game on Hard difficulty without Vita Chambers. Around the half-way point my money and ammo were pretty much maxed out no sooner had I used them.

It was pretty damn easy compared to some other games, but still a whole lot of fun. In fact it made a refreshing change not having to worry about constantly dying and just getting immersed in the atmosphere of the place.

I must agree with you.

I've just finished Bioshock 2. Awesome game at all. I don't think it's better, but as good as the first one. An interesting thing in this game is that we frequently meet people we talk with on the radio. Apart from the boss fights, I don't remember we having these meetings in the first game.

I have a couple questions:

Spoiler:
What happened to tenenbaum? We've met in the beggining but she vanishes. I don't remember what ending she had, lol.

Is there different endings, like in the first game? I think I've watched the good ending because I saved all little ones.

Spoiler:
You know what? I wondered exactly the same thing about Tenenbaum. I got the distinct feeling we just left her at the bottom of the ocean. There are different endings, but from what I hear they're more variations on the same sequence. I think I read that there were three -- good, bad and in between. It's all determined by the compassion you show to the good folk of Rapture.

Spoiler:
I, too, completely forgot about Tenenbaum. Bit of a plot-hole there. Anyway, there are four endings apparently.

See the link (scroll down to the final paragraph).

Spoiler:
Hehehe. Maybe she'll be back on Bioshock 3.

So, I've indeed unlocked the "good" ending then. Very touching, by the way.

Spoiler:
Maybe she'll assume the role of the villain. Being stranded on the ocean floor will do that.
