Default mortal kombat vs DC video game?

Yeah I just saw a trailer for the game on ign.com. I wonder why they decided to make those to fight each other anyways it looks pretty good i enjoy mortal kombat games but it is going to be weird seeing them fight each other. Well if anyone has any info or new information let me know I'm trying to find out more about it.

Is it more unusual than Predator vs Terminator?

Sadly there are no fatalities.

(...) Looking through the Wikipedia bio of Superman, it's said that his powers can be disrupted by magical/mystical attacks. That would work for me as an excuse as to why Superman isn't as strong as usual.

The only games I've heard of are: "Alien vs. Predator" or "Terminator vs. Robocop"...

*edit*
Forgot about "Capcom vs. Marvel".

Mortal Kombat was definately a fenominon that ended when they so idiotically went to 3D which was really one of the things that led to the demise of American Arcades, but versus DC? That's kinda like Saved by the Bell vs the Snorks. They have nothing to do with each other and shouldn't...

If Street fighter can go up against Marvel heroes , then mortal kombat can go up against DC heroes. It's only tit for tat after all.

^ Yeah, if Megaman could blast Onslaught then why can't Johnny Cage do his signature move against Superman or Darkseid or ... Wonder Woman ?

Hawkman ? Shayera "Hawkgirl" Hol is way better. It would be cool if The Question, Vandal Savage and Parasite made an appearance too.

Oh, come on, just because the other big classics in the respective genres did this, that doesn't automatically call for a knock off.

What's next, Evangelion versus One Must Fall? Duke Nukem versus the Terminator? Star Trek versus Wing Commander? Animaniacs versus Leisure Suit Larry? No, wait, some of those would probably be less obvious and more sensible.

Capcom didn't rush into something like this, they made an X-men fighting game which was good on it's own, and then gradually proceeded to make it more crossoverish. Making an all-star roster fighting game from the ground up sounds extremely weird and brazen.

Another reason why it doesn't make sense for mortal kombat to do this comes to mind: isn't mortal kombat supposed to be all about the gore? Somehow, I don't think DC would be very thrilled to have its characters get horribly butchered and mutilated.

Didn't they have the same problem with the need for speed series? From what I know, the car manufacturers weren't willing to let their cars be shown in ... unflattering or controversial situations, so damage modeling was left out completely for many of the games, and some of the cars were locked out of the police chase modes.
