Default Worms: Open Warfare 2

The release is getting closer and closer.

The first DS version of Open Warfare was pretty much a turd, no online support and the game played like crap, looked like crap and was crap.

This time the gameplay is supposedly better, the graphics are now Worms trademark standard and there's Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support for online play!

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24399.html

That popped up at Gametrailers a few days ago.

I really want this game IF the gameplay is well done, it's only one of the three games coming out for DS this year that I'm really interested.

Simply wonderful review.

Here's a better review, by IGN.

I'm actually considering buying a DS bundle with this game, looks really quite good.

Has anyone played the XBLA game? It's pretty light on weapons and features, and has some frustrating glitches, but it's still a lot of fun and looks beautiful on a big screen HDTV.

I didn't know XB had worms on it, but I guess I have to check it out now. Anyhow, if you guys end up getting this game for the DS, I'll give you my friend code so we can match up.

I'll be getting it in a few weeks, after I receive my next paycheck.

I'm totally interested in this one, as I was already interesting in the first Open Warfare (until it turned out a score of: Turd.) Despite it being pretty much identical to most Worms before, it's just worth having Worms on a handheld.

I've reviewed Worms Open Warfare 2 for the Dutch magazine GMR and it's a great Worms. The first one was crap, but this one totally redeems it and in the process creates probably one of the better Worms titles in existence.

If you like Worms, do not let this one pass you by.

Ah, Worms, nothing quite like launching an exploding sheep at one of your friends.

I may have to look into this game.

Great to hear!
I didn't yet order it actually even though I was supposed to. The release date for Canada is 19th September so I'm ordering it next week from dvdboxoffice.

I don't know why really, but after they moved on from the pixelated original it sort of lost its appeal for me. Maybe the stylized cartoony style was more cute than funny. I don't know.

I agree. My best memories of Worms comes from.. well, Worms. Maybe it's just because it's the one I played the most, because the gameplay didn't change a whole much. But yeah, the original Worms will always have a place in my heart.

I don't know. I played both Worms 1 and 2 extensively, but I just loved the bolder cartoon design so much... once I had 2 I never looked back.

Those of you who have the game, feel free to pm me or post your friend code so that we can set up some matches. We can make it an open forum rumble.

Unfortunately, my Wi-Fi connection is non-existent at the moment. Perhaps later.
