Battlestations Midway
If you have a 360, download this demo. This game is awesome! Even more so when you play with people you know who won't quit.

I heard excellent things about it. I'll look into it tonight when I get home from work.

It's about the Naval battles of WWII in the pacific theater. It's pretty much an RTS, where you make units, but then you take direct control of those units.
Personally, I like the submarines. I like to pop up out of nowhere, surprise a huge carrier by blowing it's port side with a barrage of torpedos and sink back under before they even know what hit them. If you're not into boats, then you can fly aircraft. |

It's uber uber realistic. I'd download the tutorial first. It's a video that help explains how to play. The learning curve is a little steep, but once you get it...damn is it golden.

I've seen a trailer of the game, but I thought it looked ugly*. I'm going to download the demo and see it in real time.
* Games on the 360 shouldn't be ugly by principle *edit* I can only find the multiplayer demo Last edited by MdaG; 01-24-2007 at 01:42 PM. |

Well considering the scope of the game, I think it looks pretty damn good.

Large open environment, lots of water, the ability to go way above and below the water line, the game being online and the amount of units on a screen at one time. When you look at the detail put into every ship and plane, you'll see it's quite an amazing feat.

A periscope, I would say.
This definitely sounds like my kind of game. I joined the Navy last month and ship off to boot camp at the end of May. Maybe I'll buy this game and chalk it up to "research" as justification for spending money I don't have on a game... Has anyone seen the bomber girl pin-up calender that goes with the Battlestations game? ::whistles::

I only found a multiplayer demo. I tried to get on a server but failed (dunno why?), then I downloaded a in game trailer with a narrator explaining features of the game. It sounds like a good game, but I'd like a singeplayer demo to try out first since I seldom play online. It's something about listening to the squikey voices of twelve year olds telling me what a n00b I am that puts me off
