Default First game to steal your heart

I believe, for everyone, there is a game which made you love it at the first sight.

I played many games before, but thisone was something different. When i came to my friends place and saw him in a rocking chair holding joypad from Mega Drive (Genesis) and then i saw it on the screen - Flashback. I fell in love with it immediately. That game was just awesome. Graphics, sounds and what is the most important playability. We spent hours with that game and even when we completed it, we played it over and over again...

Aaaaahhhhhhhh, what a memories

Tough one...

I remember when I first saw Bards Tale. A demo cassette came free with a Spectrum magazine. It was only Skara Brae streets you could explore, but I played the demo over and over. It was the first time I ever saw an RPG.

I also instantly loved manic miner, valhalla and tir-na-nog, I just can't remember which was first...

Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. As soon as I saw the first trailer, I knew it would be amazing.

Edit: Okay, so it's definitely not the first. But I don't remember what was going through my head when I saw Ocarina of Time. It was a long time ago.

I'm not sure, since I don't even recall my first game because I was way too young. But probably the first game I really, really fell in love with and played to bits must have been Lemmings or Prince Of Persia. Even though I had played a lot of adventures before (mainly the early Larry's and King's Quest's), I was much too young to be able to understand what was going on (English is not my native language), so I never really got hooked to them like to POP and Lemmings.

I think it was Wolf 3d back when I played it in 94. It led me into gaming, and I never looked back.

The first game that blew my mind was the origonal Dragons Lair that was actually a Video disk with a conroller board and it was the wildest thing I had ever seen. There is no telling how much of my money that I was supposed to use for gas in my old car went into that stupid game. What's cool about it was that the Vid disks back then (and this is sad since it was prob. before most of you were born) was as big as a large phonograph record. Wow that was fantastic

I'm so damn tempted to say Thief.

However, it is not true in terms of it being the first one, though that game did do it anyhow. The first game was Gabriel Knighty 3, the very first computer game I ever played through and through.

I think it was Ocarina of Time. That was the first game that I loved enough to play over, and over, and over.....and over..................and over..................................and over........

Final fantasy 6 or mechwarrior 2, I'm not sure which one I played before the other.

Yeah I would have to say Final Fantasy 7 as well, first time I became truly attached to the characters.

Must've been (the demo of) Tomb Raider. The first computer game I ever played... We didn't have a computer then (we'd soon get one though), so I played it in my dad's computer at work... Oh yes, those were the days...

i played a lot of Commodore64 games as a kid, mostly on tape drive but then later on the 5 inche floppys.. hehe... there were a lot of games i was kinda hooked on as a youngen but none that really "stole my heart". Then i got an AMIGA and some games started to really get me addicted like "bards tale" and "sid miers pirates" amongst others. However it wasn't until i first got hold of "the secret of monkey island" that a game officially stole my heart. I played thru it with my friend andy and since then i've completed it several more times on AMIGA and a few more times after that on PC. Of course i was sufficiently sold by this game that i went on to purchase the majority of other LucasARts adventure titles (i bought one star wars game early on and never touched them again) and loved them all.

cheers to Guybrush for giving me years of pleasure.. still..

The original Prince of Persia, it was so unreal, simply blew me away.
