Here is my launch plan:
Wii: $250 2nd controller: $60 Zelda -TP: $50 Classic controller: $15 4,000 wii points: $40 One other game: $50 Sub Total: $465 Tax: ~$30 Out the door price: ~$495 Which is still cheaper than the base ps3 with no games, add-ons, or even tax! I think I'm beyond drooling. I'm currently foaming at the mouth. And please understand that I am no Nintendo fanboy. I don't own a GC and I didn't even buy my n64 until well into 2002. I’m just excited that something new is coming to the industry. I’ve watched graphic improvements for years, I’m ready for a new way to play. When do pre-orders begin? ...bysmitty

Mine are:
Wii - 250$ Zelda - 50$ Rayman - 50$ ? 2,000 Wii points - 20$ Probably the classic controler - 15$ And maybe a 2nd wiimote if Europe gets Wii sports bundled. Of course the prices will not be anything like that because everyone knows Europe gets robbed in the conversions por euro/pound I'm scared of the conference for Europe tomorrow, I hope the price is not anything close those rumoured 300euro... and now there some reports that talk about a March 2007 delay... |

I love the fact they dont have 2 different system versions, one simple console as it should be.

You'll all get ulcers with all the speculation. |

I can understand the tetchiness. The UK and Europe got the **** end of the stick with the PS3. Like I said earlier, I worry about gastric ulcer formation with all the stress these consoles cause. [/busybody]

Oddly enough, waiting for consoles doesn't bother me. It's all going to come eventually and there's so many games to play through in the meantime. I often won't purchase a new console until the price has gone down quite a bit, and that being the case, I tend to avoid reading a lot about the games for the new consoles, thus avoiding much of the agony it would cause me while I wait.
I suppose the rest of the world can be seen as bug testing the systems and games for Europe. Not that it makes it easy for early adopters... I feel for you. |

It's a bit more expensive than I expected, the new Xbox 360 Core pack will sell for around $255 in Japan and it will come bundled with two games. Wii is around $220 there. Good thing Japanese people don't care for 360.

By the way, I'd like to point out that Nintendo has done a 180-degree turn from their previous stance on the purpose of a console. In the last generation, while Microsoft and Sony talked about combining different media functions into one entertainment system, Nintendo said that they made only dedicated game systems. No DVDs, no "toast"- just games. Now, though, they seem to be competing with Microsoft and Sony at their own game, conceding to their vision of a wider range of abilities from a console. Even without having DVD playback (which I'm sure is more a matter of price than philosophy by this point), the news, Opera browser, and weather forecast is going to make Wii look more like a multifunctional device, and XBox 360 will come off looking like the dedicated games system. Ironic, no?
