Thanks for the links, Roman! Interesting reading. I've been salivating over Bioshock for quite a while now - can't wait.

There's a new interview on GameSpot, together with some new screenshots.

I shift in my seat again, but for different reasons this time. There aren't many games which place these kinds of decisions in the hands of the person at the keyboard, even fewer which make those decisions so central to the gameplay.

It's not just a matter of whether or not to kill a child though - there are a few alternative ways of acquiring the precious Adam. Without a Protector, a Gatherer will attempt to run away, but corner one and threaten her and she'll give you some Adam. Similarly, you can befriend a Gatherer and receive even more Adam. Of course, if you want all the Adam, you need to put your child-murdering hat on and go hunting.
Whoah.

It seems to get more and more obvious this game is gonna SUCK!

Spoiler:
<- er, what's going on? Surely smileys must appear spoilified (heh) as well! ADMINS! AH, whatever!!!

Btw, did anyone play SWAT4? I've heard about a pretty disturbing mission in there. And it's an Irrational game after all. Hm.

The way I see it, Bioshock is either going to be one of the greatest games ever or one of the biggest disappointments ever. Mind you, I have no reason yet to anticipate anything other than the former .

The system requirements will be mind-blowing too for sure.

Not really, just a single regular Xbox 360.

Makes me wish I weren't such a pansy; I'm still only about an hour into System Shock 2. I'll doubtless buy Bioshock and be too scared to continue after an hour too. I love Irrational, but it would be better for my psychological state if they stayed more in semi-tongue-in-cheek brightity bright land.

Now imagine with what Eric Brosius will come up in the audio department. Time for some additional pants and a new rig! Wow, this looks highly, highly original. In the same way Thief did with its sick and twisted medieval steam punk'n'zombies (or whatever!) setting.

Frankly, I'd have preferred SWAT4 to have a lot more missions that are less crazy and spooky.

Haha, but that's a little extreme.

Unskippable cut-scenes do suck though, at those times when you have to reload for whatever reason and sit through them over and over until you get it right (I'm looking at Sly 3).

But hey, you just know that Bioshock will feature what are essentially unskippable cutscenes, only told ingame. It's not like Levine is going to let me skip having characters speak to me, or allow me to avoid the whole opening segment where I find my way down into the city or whatever, is he?
