The Second Game/Quiz

Okay, here we go. This one is a shade under five minutes long and features eleven different pieces (each helpfully separated by a beep). All of this music was already on my PC, because I'm too lazy to start installing emulators at the moment.

In addition, I apologise for the quality of #4, which I think gained some of the crackle when I was editing it.

You're correct in that one of them is indeed the Broken Sword II end theme.

And you're not actually wrong with any of them .

You can't actually record midi music, you can only record an interpretation of it; that's what I was getting at, almost none of the portions of your game medley sound low sample-ish. Dosbox seems to only be able to output 22khz renderings of midi, while a soundblaster awe32 would probably do so at 44khz.

Okay, some hints.

The answers to #1 and #10 have already been mentioned.

#2 is from a cutscene in a survival horror-esque game.

#6 is by Jeremy Soule, but isn't Morrowind or Oblivion. Yes, he's written every fantasy RPG score ever, but that should narrow things down a bit.

There are two games in this list from LucasArts.

#8 is probably only going to be correctly answered by an Englishman. Probably.

Only one game from this list is a DOS game. Most of these games were developed after 1999, with the exception of #1 and #9.

#2 sounds to me like it's from Phantasmagoria. Actually, #11 also kinda sounds like it, but I'm fairly sure it isn't the same opera bit as in the game.

5) Trackmania? (figured you'd squeeze a trackmania tune in there. I don't recognise any, but I haven't played the original so maybe that's it - told you it was a wild stab )

Junkface, you're right with #2 and #3 (I actually took #2 direct from the file in the game folder, so I have no idea what the "Dreams of the Future" cutscene actually is ).

No Trackmania or RotH, simpson_yellow (though I should probably have put the former in there somewhere). And I don't own The Da Vinci Code (yet).

The list so far:
