Default Non adventure quote game

Since there's a screenshot game, why not a guess-where-the-quote's-from game as well? Sure a lot of quotes could be googled, but there's a good bit that can't, they just have to be obscure enough.(but unfortunately, that means we can't use such classics as "run, run, or you'll be well done!")

Same rules, except, to prevent everyone getting stuck on one quote, let's make two quotes be in play at once, if five other quotes are guessed while another isn't, then that one is to be replaced; audio clips are fine too, even if they're not exactly quotes(is there any conveniant way to use audio files?), a small set of quotes is also fine, especially if one quote would likely be found in other places too.

two easy ones to start, "They must really wish to die flying those z-95 headhunters" {a}

"Parting is such sweet sorrow... Not!", "I didn't like violence anyway!" & "Hey! Killin' ain't cool." {b}

Having 2 sets of quotes going at once could be a bit confusing

All right then, they will be labelled with squigly brackets as quotes from either the a-chain or b-chain.

The B-quotes have been nagging at me, but I think I finally got it. Are they messages from when you get killed in Scorched Earth?

Yup, except the first one not a death line but an attack one.

Two sets? Lame. Lets just do one at a time.

Two out of three ain't bad... so, should I post a new one or what?

As for audio files, you can always just have an attachment. Most voice clips should be small enough in OGG or MP3 format.

I´m guessing the A line is from X-Wing Alliance. I think Emkay says it.

I don't know, I think that would be extremely slow. I'd expect that this will be harder and slower than the scene game, even with two quotes in play at once it'll still probably be a lot slower, but it should at least be consistantly slow.

Yeah, just like in the scene game.

It doesn't allow attaching either wav's or mp3's, although making an 11khz wav file into an mp3 produces horrible artifacts anyway unless the bitrate is bumped up to the point that it's barely smaller than a zipped file.

No (although I haven't played through all of x-wing aliance, I suppose it could be in there too).

I'll guess the A-line is from X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter.

Yes. It's said by a wingman when you're flying a tie advanced(aka tie avenger). It's kind of ironic because regular tie fighters are even more unsafe to fly.

You can attach Zip files. And I have plenty of 11khz (adventure game) wavs that sound fine as OGG, at least, and are still well under the 97.7K zip limit, even the longer clips. So no worries.

And I say the more quotes the merrier. It is pretty hard to think up a quote that's obscure enough to be a challenge (and non-Googleable), yet specific enough that you can attach it to a game if you know the game.

Let's give this one a try:

"Elliot! You ID-iot! *smack, smack, smack*"

I can set up a public ftp location on my webspace if anyone wants a place to dump larger sound files. Let me know and I will create a generic login and post how to access it.

I agree that this will be harder than the scene game. I'm clueless on all of them so far.

Alright, since I guessed right, I guess I'll give it a go now:

"I was listening to that caller about taxes. His views are a little extreme. How do you expect to be a responsible member of society if you don't understand how the government spends your money? Why are people afraid of numbers? Sine and Cosine are two of the elegant incredible discoveries of humanity. I mean, the Cartesian co-ordinate system has an elemental power I find invigorating and even sexy. And I'm not ashamed to say it."
