(btw, I have an X360 and loving it... when I use it. They really haven't taken much advantage of the full year of being without competition.) |

By the way, I wonder how many launch titles would PS3 have and what they would look like if it really debuted this spring, like initially planned. Given the extra development time, those games should look and play much better than 360 launch titles. We'll see if that will be the case.

Having people interested in buying the Xbox 360 long before the PS3 even comes out would be a lot better than just having than a handful of titles, where a couple of them are are good exclusives. If there aren't games, people aren't interested. If the console had a lot of games out already, by the time of the PS3 launch, people might pick up the Xbox 360 instead. But now they'll be competing on relatively equel terms. The PS3 is probably going to have more titles than the Xbox 360 available by the end of the fiscal year (march), which... quite frankly... is shameworthy for Microsoft. First and second generation titles or not, there are always a gem or ten in the first batch of games. The PS2 had, for example, International Superstar Soccer (I loved it actually, while waiting for PES - a lot better and deeper than FIFA was at the time), SSX, Dead of Alive 2, Ridge Racer V, Crazy Taxi, Gran Turismo 3 (yes, if the game's released within a year after the consoles released, it's first generation), Silent Hill 2, ICO etc etc. |

Besides, a lead of 10 million units is respectable, presuming they manage to pull that off. Quote:
