No, I expect a few more of them to come out eventually. You know, the PS3 will have more than ten titles to choose from (unlike the Xbox 360 :p).

(btw, I have an X360 and loving it... when I use it. They really haven't taken much advantage of the full year of being without competition.)

I think we'll see about that next year when PS3 will be going through growing pains while 360 should be in full swing.

By the way, I wonder how many launch titles would PS3 have and what they would look like if it really debuted this spring, like initially planned. Given the extra development time, those games should look and play much better than 360 launch titles. We'll see if that will be the case.

Having people interested in buying the Xbox 360 long before the PS3 even comes out would be a lot better than just having than a handful of titles, where a couple of them are are good exclusives. If there aren't games, people aren't interested. If the console had a lot of games out already, by the time of the PS3 launch, people might pick up the Xbox 360 instead. But now they'll be competing on relatively equel terms. The PS3 is probably going to have more titles than the Xbox 360 available by the end of the fiscal year (march), which... quite frankly... is shameworthy for Microsoft. First and second generation titles or not, there are always a gem or ten in the first batch of games. The PS2 had, for example, International Superstar Soccer (I loved it actually, while waiting for PES - a lot better and deeper than FIFA was at the time), SSX, Dead of Alive 2, Ridge Racer V, Crazy Taxi, Gran Turismo 3 (yes, if the game's released within a year after the consoles released, it's first generation), Silent Hill 2, ICO etc etc.

Sure it would, but how, out ot thin air? It's not that easy, especially when you're not the winner of the last generation's battle.

Besides, a lead of 10 million units is respectable, presuming they manage to pull that off.

Try telling Ken that.

How much more than 160 would be enough for you?

Sorry, but I don't see that happening at all, even though PS3 is the favored platform among publishers at the moment because of its legacy. One of the things people are most disappointed about concerning PS3 is the lack of games set for release in forseeable future. That's what made Ken say that stupid thing in the first place. And let's not forget that it might never change unless PS3 takes off the way Sony hopes it would. After all, it's the most expensive and time consuming to develop for out of all next gen platforms.

Who said that? The problem is that nobody knows when most of them will hit the market. Out of those you specifically mentioned, Resistance is a launch title, Assassin's Creed should be out in Q1 2007, Virtua Fighter 5 in Q2 2007 and as for the rest of them - nobody knows for sure. Yes, even for Heavenly Sword. And all that's presuming there won't be any further delays, which is very unlikely in this business.

I'm sorry, I misinterpreted you. I just can't tell if you are joking or being serious without using a smily

If you look at the games released for 360 right now, you can't honestly tell me it is that impressive. Yes the future looks bright with some must have titles announced, but it takes time to build a solid library for any console. Most of these games will be out by the end of 2007 I'm guessing so we won't be even having this discussion then. But to really expect a console to come out, with all the triple A titles, and games that take full advantage of the hardware, well that's really not realistic.

Oh, agreed completely, that's exactly what I said:

It's Crimson who voiced his disappointment over 360 not totally pwning in its first year.
