I want to add my own experiences to Tanu's: at first my brain age was 56 as well, and the next day down to 28. I think it's all about becoming familiare with the assignments, rather than actually training your brain.
HOWEVER, the real thing that Brain Training/Age does is that you stimulate larger parts of your brain. It's not about improving your maths or your abilities to count syllables, it's about activating your Mass. And that it does far more effectively than when you play Mario, because these simple challenges have all been designed reap the most reward. (And it's been ages since I did simple maths, so if anything it's constructive )
