It plays Gamecube games normally, it has a mini dvd drive for those games or what ever the cube discs are.

Backwards compatibility through downloads are for NES, SNES and N64 games.
And possibly for some old Sega games if the rumours are true.

Spiwak 02-06-2006 01:36 PM

Downloads? Are they going to be free then? It wouldn't make too much sense to have to pay some nominal fee for a game that I already own for N64 or NES.

Dasilva 02-06-2006 01:44 PM

You'll pay a small fee for whatever game you choose to download. I cant wait to play Goldenbeye & Perfect Dark.

SamNMax 02-06-2006 02:36 PM

Last games I bought were my 360 games.

SakSquash 02-06-2006 03:44 PM

I owned it before, but I sold it before it was announced the the 360 would be BC. Got it for $5.

Dasilva 02-06-2006 03:50 PM

I just won these items on ebay.

SamNMax 02-06-2006 06:21 PM

Nice.

squarejawhero 02-06-2006 11:50 PM

Colonels Bequest boxed, special stuff indeed. One of the best games ever made over all genres, imo.

So at least it wasn't that much money even if I *never play the game*. :D

In that case... I should see if I can find a bargain for it. It's just that when they reviewed it in Pelit, it got known and the price went up...

I should get Psychonauts too...

And Monkey Islands 1-3... ;(

SakSquash 02-07-2006 07:48 AM

Shit, i'd give kings quest V to anyone who would friggin take it.

squarejawhero 02-07-2006 07:51 AM

You never answer or check your PM's, boyo.

Spiwak 02-08-2006 05:00 PM

For 25.51 off eBay.

Karmillo 02-08-2006 05:20 PM

theres a Directors cut?

Spiwak 02-09-2006 02:38 AM

Yes.

It's on a DVD (so no multple CDs!) with some extra stuff, and also a Dark Horse comic book.

RLacey 02-09-2006 03:34 AM

Fret not, Karmillo. The European DVD version is the Director's Cut edition. They never released the standard version here.

Oh, no comic book, but the extra DVD content is there. Definitely.

Jeysie 02-09-2006 09:17 AM

Hmm. I've pre-ordered Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords... does that count? ;P

The first game is lots of fun to play around with, and the second game looks like it promises to be even more fun. I could probably spend hours just tinkering around with the ship designer, from the sounds of it, and the diplomatic dialogue looks even more amusing. :9~

Peace & Luv, Liz

RLacey 02-09-2006 09:20 AM

I bought an original boxed copy of Scorched Planet today, because Virgin Oxford for some reason has about three of the damn things that it's never managed to sell. Until recently they were still trying to sell a ten year-old game for £34.99, but now they've dropped it to the far more reasonable price of 99p.

insane_cobra 02-22-2006 01:57 PM

Shopping time!

Several days ago I finally bought

http://img429.imageshack.us/img429/4418/simon3d18ct.jpg

and today I returned for

http://img429.imageshack.us/img429/1416/ico13uw.jpg.

However,

http://img429.imageshack.us/img429/5176/toee18zt.jpg and http://img429.imageshack.us/img429/7322/vampire18uk.jpg

were on sale so I got them as well. :)

Now I'm thinking about buying

http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/4312/gregory14ro.jpg,

anyone played it?

avatar_58 02-22-2006 02:27 PM

Already mentioned it in another thread, but I pre-ordered this:

Lucien21 02-22-2006 02:27 PM

Not bad. I remember Temple of Elemetal Evil being close to AD&D but buggy as hell. They might have patched it.

Mind you Vampire wasnt the most stable game either.

And they are both Troika games. Hmmmm habit of releasing unfinished buggy but excellent products me thinks.

Ico is just a classic though.

Who know being a peeping tom could be so much fun? :P

That's what happens if you have no internal QA and rely on the publishers to provide it :frown:.

Anyway, make sure you get the official and unofficial patches for Vampire. They won't optimise the engine, but they will fix a whole load of the bugs :).

Karmillo 02-23-2006 04:16 PM

yeah like one that would crash at the very end of a level where you have to run like hell to escape a bomb blast :(

About time, I say.

About time indeed - Now go play KOTOR for sixteen hours straight! :)

Star Wars: Empire At War. I thought it was time for an RTS game, and this looks pretty good. I haven't played a serious RTS since some C&C expansion, and considering this is a Petroglyph game, I though I could hardly go wrong with it. So far I've played through nearly the whole tutorial (my RTS skills be rusty ;)) and I'm looking forward on completing a 'campaign'. The space battles are awesome - order a squadron of X-Wings to attack a cruiser, switch to movie mode and it's like a freakin' SW film :P

I just got this one too. Yeah, the space battles are awesome, but the land battles are a little boring. Anyway, I'm liking this game, I think it's going to keep me away from Rome:TW for a while :)

Yeah too bad about the land battles (also, what's with the small maps?) but the space battles more than make up for it. I really hope the gameplay doesn't become repetitive, but so far it's quite addictive :)

[Waits for the laughter to start]

I paid $8, I think.

insane_cobra 03-05-2006 04:31 PM

You poor bastard.

I used to have Space Harrier on tape for C64, but I lost it. :frown:

'Nuff said.

UPtimist 03-20-2006 06:55 AM

O right, I forgot this thread... I just bought:

And for the price of the normal version.

Oh yes.
I actually bought this over a week ago...

RLacey 03-20-2006 09:41 AM

Is Crashday actually any good? I've read a few reviews which all seem to imply that it's a bit like Trackmania but with too little variety. That said, GAME have it for £11.49 inc. P&P atm...

jjacob 03-20-2006 10:36 AM

http://www.nl.bol.com/intershoproot/.../5/1759503.gif

Bought for 40€ at bol.com. So far I'm having a blast :P The graphics are very classy and the rest is definately somewhat reminiscent of the Monkey Island games. No regrets here.

Monroeski 03-20-2006 04:14 PM

Getting to this thread a little late, but I picked up Scratches on release day, and Fable: The Lost Chapters an hour or so later. I'm quite tempted by Gun, may get that sometime soon.

Gun is fairly mediocre, it can be fun if you go in without high expectations, but it's nothing like the previews, the freedom is fairly limited, the story linear, so just don't expect GTA-style freedom in the wild west ;)

BenjaminBunny 03-22-2006 03:05 PM

Farenheit UK edition off of ebay...

RLacey 03-22-2006 03:20 PM

I got nineteen games in two "Xplosiv! Top 10" packs. Yes, nineteen, because one of them is in both :shifty:.

The games (ones marked in bold are the ones I didn't already have):

Virtua Cop 2
Sonic R
Sonic 3D
Sega WorldWide Soccer
Panzer Dragoon
Virtua Fighter 2
International Cricket Captain 2000
Combat Chess
Pro Pinball: Time Shock
Sega Touring Car Championship (x2)
House of the Dead 2
Warrior Kings Remastered
Virtual Tennis
Bust-a-move 3DX
Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX
Crazy Taxi
Battle Zone II: Combat Commander
Call to Power II
Enemy Engaged

Not bad for £6.66, with Sherlock Holmes: Mystery of the Mummy arriving when it gets released (it's being put out on budget here).
