360 wireless Live?
 

I've been wondering about this, and trying to find the answer, but I still am not sure. I have my Internet what'sit... box (you know, right? the thing where I connect everything and get the connection) upstairs, and my XBox is (or well, will be, once I get 360) downstairs. Is there a wireless connector-thingy (I'm lost with words today) that I can use to actually connect to the modem and play Live, or should I just get the Core System, because almost everything in the bigger version is Live-oriented?

(Edit): OK, well, I guess I should get the better version even if I can't play Live, since there's really no way of saving with the core system... Which is very weird...

mind you you need to have a wireless network router on your PC.

If it's an ethernet cable connection then it won't work.

You can probably use a generic wireless bridge like you could with the original Xbox, which would work out a lot cheaper, but I'm not certain. Anyone know?

I think what you're looking for is an Access Point. Routers are far more functional, but more expensive. Switches/Bridges, are the same idea as an Access Point.

So all that stuff works that far?

So what's the simplest, the most effective and the most cheap option (and/or all put together)? I'm so lost with this kind of technical stuff :frusty:

It goes a little something like this:
Wireless Adapter for Xbox 360 (what Lucien said) -> Access Point(basically a wireless Switch/Bridge, as Huz said) -> Your Modem

Wireless Routers are more functional and more expensive, but I tend to like the setup where you have a wired router, for your wired network, and put an Access Point on it to "bridge" between your wired and wireless networks. Safer for security, and you can have the best of both worlds.

Since you probably use your modem for a computer, or multiple computers you get this setup:

Yeah, I've been wondering if I should just draw the lines from there... It would be a bit of a hassle, but it might work...
