Default Shadow of the Colossus reviews

The spiritual sequel to ICO is finally arriving and the reviews have nothing but good things to say about it:

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/924364.asp

I havent read too much (dont want to spoil anything), but the scores are looking good.
Now its just a matter of waiting it to arrive Europe.

Awesome!

Too bad I don't own a PS2, though (I've played ICO, though, and am madly in love with it).

And unfortunately Colossus is more on an action/adventure so this thread will soon be moved to General Gaming.

I am currently replaying ICO in anticipation of this game. I still can't get over how wonderful ICO really is. It just manages to take you "there".

1up.com have a very good review : http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3144750&did=1

I loved the demo for the game, and it had lots of graphical and technical errors, so I can only imagine how good the complete version is.

I don't want to post the link, but IGN gave the game a 9.7. That's insane.

4 months after the US release!!! Arrgghhh... Why does Sony or whoever is responsible continue to practice this kind of incredible delay between the international releases of almost every japanese game?!?
Is is so hard to convert from NSTC to PAL?
At least its being released here... the same cant be said about others (Xenosaga, Katamari Damacy,...)

Maybe it will come with some extras like the PAL-version of ICO did. That would be worth the waiting... or not!

this game is ridiculous.. i don't know if i have ever seen a game so beautifully rendered. i'll subdue my urges to pontificate and drag on... but such a cool game on so many levels. I would recommend this to anyone who has not gotten it.

Why are so many great games being released lately? Going broke.

machinima?

Can anyone explain to me what is actually impressive about this game? I haven't played it (or ICO), but all the previews I read seemed to suggest that it consisted of boss fights and riding around luciously rendered landscapes, but not much more ...

For one the scale of the game is amazing, you will be fighting HUGE creatures from the size of a house to the size of a skyscraper!

Also the game is from the same creator and studio as ICO and if you've played it, you will understand it will just ooze quality and gaming goodness.

I think the fact that Samsie called the IGN review insane, bought it, then agreed, should say something.

The word "insane" can be used to say "amazing" or "unbelievable", but saying "insane" makes it sound more xtreme.

I played the demo and to be honest, I was a little disappointed. Maybe the full game gets much better, just like ICO picks up steam as you go.

Penny-Arcade's Tycho talked about it, and I'm not sure if it was good. At the very least, he insisted that it needed to be seen.
