It's probably because I finished Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within and The Two Thrones right before Psychonauts, so I was already prepared for some serious platforming . And compared to Warrior Within (now THAT's a difficult game!), Psychonauts seemed rather simplistic in its platform sections (not that I mind though). I don't think there was a part in the Meat Circus that took me more than 5 tries.

Really? Must be pure luck then. There is one jump just before the first boss at the Meat Circus that I still haven't managed to make although I still managed to get through it (after I fell, the game let me start up on the platform for some odd reason).

A quick question: I heard there's a point of no return in this game, is there any warning before this happens so that you can go around collecting the rest of the stuff before finishing?

Yes, it's before the Meat Circus. Although it is possible to go back to the other levels even after that.
