They've kept the Morrowind feel.

That was quite an... eccentric woman, and to think I was already shocked when she paralyzed the poor thing.

Squarejaw, have you been drinking when you posted this?

Too much DSL celebration, I guess...

Recently an Oblivion-presentation - shown at E3 - was leaked. It didn't take long for it to spread all over the internet, as it reveals much more of the game than the fans had been shown up till now.

It's not exactly legal, but over at the official TES forums the mods are allowing pretty much the entire forum to discuss what they saw. They are, however, not allowing anyone to send out downloadlinks to the aforementioned movie.

I just downloaded the 20min gameplay footage of Oblivion and I must admit one thing: IT IS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE THING I'VE EVER SEEN BY A PC. PERIOD.

After a very long time, I felt that really warm feeling inside, when you experience something so mind-blowing, thaty you just want to rush outside and scream to the world "Hey, check THIS out"! You just want to share your enthusiasm with everybody else.

From today, Oblivion is oficially no1 on my wish list.

It is quite effective footage, a pity they haven't shown it to the public, as I believe that one video would garner much more fans than a few screenshots.
The only thing I did not like, however, was the dog animation, it was a bit... stilted. And the entire generated-forest thing (however complex it may be) is also a bit innerving, if not unsettling.

I found the videos on Gametrailers

http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1688

It looks awesome, can't wait.

The forest and ruins in the second part look beautifull

Oh gawwd, I'm having orgasms over this game! F*** Quake IV, I want THIS!

EDIT: I just watched 3 of the demo movies. OMFG, that's right! The game gives you the option to switch to 3rd person whenever you want!!! And the combat is now very visceral, so you should be able to 'feel' each blow and strike! Xbox 360, here I c-c-c-come!!!!

Yes, it does look incredible in motion, way better than on the screenshots. But did it occur to anyone that putting a secret passage in a prison cell is EXTREMELY stupid? I guess it would be fine if it was some kind of a magically locked door, but in a video you can clearly see one of the bricks being pushed! It's not even hard to reach, therefore it's more than likely that a prisoner would push it by chance sooner or later.

Well they were surprised to actually find a prisoner there, I recall, so most likely it was designed to look like a cell, but never to be actually used.

I've still got my GF4 graphics card, so I'll stick to Daggerfall, thankyouverymuch.

You're right, I overheard that part. Still, they could've made more precautions, such as lift the brick out of reach. I wonder if you'll be able to use the escape route before they appear.

Most likely they'll change the beginning. You wake up in the cell, you can't move, first you choose a name, then race and appearance... (like in Morrowind) and the moment you can move around the Emperor walks by. I'm pretty sure they'll change the beginning since one thing that struck me most was the fact that you had a silver sword in your arsenal... pretty odd object for a prisoner to have lying around.

I don't think so, they said on numerous occasions (in this presentation, too) that you'd be playing the game for some time before making any avatar related decisions.

And about the sword issue, this is just a presentation, the section in the woods probably doesn't normally take place right after you exit the cell.

Nah, they don't have to change anything, it's fine this way. You just probably won't be allowed to interact with the wall, that's all.

A few of those animations (or the lack thereof) still bother me. The dog is a perfect example of seemingly lacking animations.

It's not a finished version and that video is pretty old.
