Default vbcode suggestion

Now, with vbulletin3 you can write [ thread ]32[ /thread ] and you will be given a link to the thread with that number. The same goes for posts.

Now it would be nice to have a similar thing with articles and news items on adventure gamers, so if you write [ article ]42[ /article ] or [ newsitem ]156 [ /newsitem ] you would be given links to the respective article and newsitem on the main AG page.

It would be really nifty. Don't know how much work it would be though.

That's a really nice idea. I'm pretty sure that can be done!

Very cool feature! I'm always copy-pasting both links and names... but that's the end of it... at least on this forum!

It would be cool if [article=x/] (XML style) would automatically put the title as the link.

Nah, the vbcode engine doesn't work that way. Sorry

(and while it could be done with some rewriting, we don't want to hack this copy up a lot since the final release will mean doing it all over again)

K. NP. My real dislikes are with the limits and things (number of images, number of characters, etc.). And I wouldn't mind having access to the smiley sidebar without having to enable the formatting toolbar, if possible.

(And, btw,
  1. They fixed the Mozilla width thing.
  2. I figured out a way to browse the forums using only the keyboard, via F7, Ctrl+Enter, and Type Ahead.
  3. I like the list tag.
)

As much as I'm happy to have the old smilies back, I think we really need a different :P, one that actually conveys :P more than does. The current one is too goofy, and not sarcastic enough. There are plenty of goofy smilies.

Can we have [s] (strikethrough) for comedy purposes?

Also, no graphical smiley can possibly convey the full intricacy of :P. Sad but true.

I was pretty satisfied with the typical vb one mixnmojo provided on our foster forum.

I keep forgetting to bring this up: the tooltip text for the hypertext link button to the right of the Insert Image button is also labeled "Insert Image", when I guess it should be "Insert Link" or something.

I noticed that also. First time I needed to insert a link I had a hell of a time finding the link button, when I didn't find a button labeled "Insert Link". I figured this out though..................eventually.
