Private Message Wierdness...
I've received an email saying I've got a new Private Message and the forum says I have one unread private message, but as far as I can see there are no unread messages in my inbox and I haven't received one for a while. The email says it's from someone called "Asdasda", who doesn't exist as far as I can tell. There is a wierd undreadable message thats appeared at the bottom of my inbox marked: "01-01-1970 12:00 AM" but thats it.
Is there an error with the board or is someone playing silly beggars?

I suspect the latter, Dom. I got one that did lead to an actual PM from a "member" with a similar (but not identical) name. Pure . If they don't show up on the member list, hopefully that means they've been zapped already.

Sorry, my bad. Some idiot joined with a fake name and spammed about 20 members. I deleted all the messages from vb3_pmtext but apparently not from vb3_pm.

It does sound a bit prankish, but on the other it doesn't. I'm not sure if it is a prank really. It was funny to read though. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not so sure if it nice to display all of this (even if it is absurd) for all to see when it clearly was meant to be in private.

Thanks Tabacco, I just wanted to be sure it wasn't a proper PM gone missing or something.
And thanks for the responses all, even though I have no idea what Mattisus, Ragou and Guybrush are on about...

I'll summarize what the post was about, a forum member and i were talking threw the PM part of the forum. his messages to me kept on getting more and more strange. i just figured they were some sort of elaborate prank but there was still a possibility that it wasn't so i took them off.

A search for a crazy man!

Yeah, that Jake character has some real explaining to do. I don't know what he's trying to pull with a crazy username like "Jake", but I consider it very deceptive and not in good taste.

At least there is no "smith" on the forums.
