Feature for game "Reviews"
Hi everyone,
I'd like to see a more detailed description in the game reviews that will make it clear if a game uses 3D camera rotation or not. Why? Because I get seasick from that! I recently conducted a poll in another AVG forum and the result was that about 1/3 of the gamers are suffering from the same problem. To clarify: A game like "The Secrets of DaVinci: The Forbidden Manuscript" for example uses a rotating 3D camera, while "Syberia" for example doesn't. One I can play - the other I can't. It would be very helpful to me if the reviews would make that clear so that I don't have to bother with certain games. Thanks! |

Welcome to AG, drG.
That information is, or is meant to be, listed on each game's own info page. It's not quite on the review page itself, but it's only one click away. To use your example of Secrets of DaVinci, just click on the "Complete Details" link in the right hand column, and you'll see that the game uses "Panoramic nodes", which refers to the rotating camera. Of course, not all that info has been filled out for every game, and some of it is currently wrong, but eventually we'll get it all sorted out. |

Thank you for your reply, Jackal!
I thought that I had looked around enough in here, but obviously I haven't.. The info really is right there under "Complete Details". Nice! So I should stay away from any games that say under "Presentation": "Panoramic nodes" or "Realtime 3D" I guess. Thanks for clearing this up for me! |

Glad to help. The Realtime 3D games won't necessarily be a problem for you. Some 3D games, like the new Sam & Max series, are standard point-and-click just like Syberia. So for 3D games you should look for 3D presentation and "direct control", because that combination is what may make you sick.
