Default Lamest Ads

This site has the worst ads. I don't mind if a site has ads, in fact, if it keeps the site going, i'm all for them. But couldn't you find some interesting ones? I mean, how much are these guys paying you to put this up?

I hope a lot. Then they might not have enough money for any other stupid movies.

There, I feel better....

Those would be GoogleAds.

They pay the bills.

You sign up for Google ads, and then they feed you content and pay you to run them. The whole point is that you don't have to spend time choosing, or spend time soliciting businesses to advertise with you. It's quick and easy. Not always the highest quality or the most on target, but what can you do? AGs other ad spaces are almost always wholly on topic, so I don't really have a problem with it.

The Google ads are at the very top of every page. Often they're text-only, and they're geographically based, so what you see depends on where you live. I think they're also supposed to be somewhat topical. I'm not exactly sure how the latter works, but something to do with matching the most appropriate ads with the content of any given page (or something). Since it's rarely very successful at doing that, I never bothered understanding it better.

The text ads try to guess the page's most prevalent topic of conversation, and show ads relating to that. They're usually pretty good, in my experience, even if they sometimes make very little sense in a this-is-an-adventure-gaming-site context.

The ads keep offering me pizza. What does this say about people who play computer games?

If it keeps the site going I don't really care what you have ads for.

I don’t pay the ads any attention, unless they get in my way, then I get kind’a annoyed.

They shouldn't ever get in the way of anything. If you ever get pop-ups, pop-unders, or even Pop Tarts, please let us know, as that should never happen (well, the Pop Tarts can, but only untoasted).

By the way, as the Google ads function on a click-through basis, clicking on them occasionally is one of the ways you can help support the site. Ignoring them pretty much makes them a waste.

Herzog the Vile got shitlisted by Adsense. In the early days when we put them up they kept showing these ads for Croatian tourism (and an offhand add for Invader Zim).

Herzog the Vile == Herceg Novi in Google's fuzzy logic, I think...

Inpatient as I am, I tried to trick the thing with some sly meta tags, but that was a no-no.

Now other sites sometimes cause problems and they really chap my ass with the ads and pop ups. the ads on this site, I do click on them b/c I do want to support you all. Thanks to all of you

Ads? What ads? We have ads on the AGs.com?

Aahhhh, thank god to good ol' Adblock extension, you almost forget such things as ads exsist.
