Default Question to tabacco

What is the session expiration time set to in the AG forums? I've noticed lately that sometimes, as I'm in the middle of writing a long response and I press submit just to know that I was logged out, so did you guys change the session timeout?

There's an 1800 second timeout for the who's online page, but your session should be valid as long as the session cookie persists on your machine. Could something be clearing that cookie?

Not sure what's clearing the cookie but it looks like it. I'll try to monitor it more closely and let you know.

Does Firefox have an automatic cookie clearance setting for security purposes? I know IE seems to let the little buggers hang around forever.

Of course, I'm just guessing SoccerDude is using Firefox but it's a pretty informed guess.

Yeah, but session cookied are different than normal cookies. They're designed to persist only until you close your browser or otherwise end your session (i.e. the server session_destroy()s them (or whatever)).

I was thinking more of a timed deletion. I guessed session cookies worked something like that but thanks for the technical confirm.
