Scott, if you ever wanted anonymity, stay with Sage. We've talked before about looking up your user name on Google - no one will ever find you with the name of Sage - there are 43 zillion listings for that. Look up Fairygdmther - a fairly unique name and there are two pages - and all refer to me.

Anonymity is great, but I think I may have overshot the mark with "Sage". Also, it sounds a bit pretentious to me now that I've lived with it for a while.

"ScottMate" on the other hand tells who I am and conjures a friendly, approachable image.

I'm just wondering how many pins Tabacco will stick in that voodoo doll of me if I ask him to change my username again.

Sorry, but to me it conjures up a cross between Scott paper towels and a Papermate pen. Can you at least separate the words?

Scott Mate or
Scott-Mate or
Scott, Mate (as if someone asks your name, this is what you'd reply)

I think it sounds more like a some sort of tool..

Love DIY? Then you can't live without a ScottMate (TM)

I think Sage suits you to be perfectly honest. You're actually quite a bright and thoughtful chap. Your posts have made me think on more than one ocassion.

Godfather impression needs a little work though.

I agree that Sage suits you. You are very wise and you flourish in the desert.

I'm gonna echo Sage and say I'm thinking of changing mine again.

Okay, new rule - you only get ONE switch. Choose wisely.
I frequent another forum where the rules are as follows: A year has to pass since the previous name change, and when you change the name, you gotta have the old one in your sig for a month. Any chance of a standardized policy that applies to everyone (I'm looking at you Kingz, ) ?
